I have one following me that needs removing-
is it causing that much of a problem? There are so so so so so many bugs they need to fix.
as @mila83 wrote
BlockquoteEven if they are spamming memrise, they are advertising bad websites, that anyone (even children) could open…and to think that I recently sent a link of a multiplication course to my nephews…
Thanks! They have all been deleted.
Hi all
Don’t know if I’m in the right place. Please tell me if I’m not!
Is it possible to report https://www.memrise.com/user/augey502/. I have just seen whatever disgusting stuff they have in their bio! Seems like a bot.
(ahem, really???)
lien moved that from another thread
apparently those spambots have already been mentioned in 3 threads
These looks like spam accounts:

@lien thanks for removing these. I have found some more:

Thanks for your help @Mr_Marshall and @mark.mcewen.3981
I hope our developers can come up with a permanent solution to stop the bots from creating new accounts soon.
In the meantime, we’ll keep just continue deleting their accounts
Thanks for deleting them @Lien!
Any idea how long this might take? I think this will mean many users have to suspend use of the platform until it is addressed.
Hi @Lien Another one, I’m afraid:

The following two I’m not really sure if they are actually spam:
https://www.memrise.com/user/fishingking21/
https://www.memrise.com/user/new_peek2017/
I also have some:

Thanks!
it doesn’t look like thise 2 are spammers,
more looks like people who’re just fiddling around a bit
Hi,
We’re currently conducting further investigation of the Spambot accounts (raised by yourselves) and was hoping those affected could briefly provide us with some more information. This would help us understand how the issue first arose.
Can you explain how you first came across or noticed these spam accounts?
For example: “I first noticed the spam accounts because I received a notification that I had a new follower. I then checked the follower and saw it was a fake account”
Any more information you can provide would be great
I saw that I had a follower, and apparently it’s a spambot, I didn’t get any notifications that I’m followed on memrise etc, I just opened the profile today and it was there - haven’t visited my profile for a while so it might have been there for some time.

I’m so glad you’re looking into this, thank you!
Similar to @agnishka90, some of my students were looking through their lists of followers and wondered who these new followers were. They clicked on the follower and then saw the inappropriate bio content.
