Review broken again?

Not necessarily, just “right answer check” could be out proper of function…

I just hope @BeaTrisy is still reading this thread.
Until this resolves: I found a strange workaround: Upon entering the review page of a specific item (after you made a mistake), you can get the next-button to work again, if you use the option to type the word correctly on this page (in the space where the right answer is already visible in light grey).

Next button problem is now solved. We’re looking into the other problems

I already did some review earlier today before the “fixes”. No problems then. Now I can confirm the problems with:

  • next button not working after (tiny) mistake + no retrial [this just got fixed],
  • showing links instead of pictures in reviews (but still working in preview).

Progress is being stored for me. That is for individual courses, not for review by category.

Well, yes, it’s probably the function as opposed to the content (alternative choices not working). But that’s a major problem and I would give it priority if I were the unlucky people trying to figure this out.

As @daniel.zohar says above, the Next button seems to be working as it should do again now during reviews but I’m experiencing other issues now:

  1. When reviewing in image-based courses, the image isn’t displaying. Instead, you now see this:

  1. The ‘All Typing’ userscript seems to be broken. @cooljingle - you may already be aware.

I’ll probably check back later, but for whatever it’s worth to those trying to fix the bug, I still can’t load any review or learning sessions, and my tickers for words due for review keep climbing.

Could we individually get roll backs this time?

@TheFour-GatedDanzig Hey remember the last update broke the script I wrote you… well I’m gonna have to update it again some time, sorry :frowning: Pls remember to try disabling it the next time it stops working!!

However, I am also having some of the problems described in this thread:

  • Firstly, reviews of a set of courses (e.g. all Spanish courses) do not seem to work, as I can do them but the score does not increase and they aren’t removed from the review queue. Sometimes an error appears (with typed answers) but with multiple choice it just fails silently. Reviews for an individual course work fine.

  • Also, multiple choice items do not seem to appear large any more when “show larger” is ticked for the column. E.g. with my course: https://www.memrise.com/course/1586850/2136-joyo-kanji-english-to-kanji/

No 4 has been happening to me for a couple of weeks. Also using Firefox.

HAHA. WOW. See. This is why you’re the programmer, and I’m merely someone who uses your scripts. (Insert sound of palm hitting forehead.) I turned it off, and now the sessions are loading.

To be determined if I’m having the rest of the issues here, and with my huge backlog, not going to be fun if the items aren’t removed from reviewing queue.

Sorry about this… Reviews do still work for individual courses, it’s just that sometimes items which are meant to be large are displayed small, and in addition reviewing multiple courses of the same subject does not work.

Well, I’ve started to review, and I can at least now add my commentary on some errors.

  1. The problem still stands if you click on “see answer” after getting the word/sentence correct, it will bring the item back up for review.

  2. At least in Japanese (can’t comment on author non-Roman alphabets), if say the answer were for the kanji of something, and you typed in the hiragana/katakana instead, it would say please retype with kanji. Now, it just marks me wrong.

Yes, this (nr.2)! I thought I was seeing things but I checked once more and this is definitly a problem.

Hi guys,
We just fixed:

We’ll keep on working on the rest of the problems and issue another release tomorrow.

Anything else comes up please do let us know.
Apologies and thanks for your cooperation.

@cooljingle, don’t know if it’s worth updating now if there’s going to be a fix tomorrow, but the all-typing isn’t working for audio prompts. As in, I have a course where it plays audio, and I have to type the sentence spoken. Now the course is all multiple choice.

In the course edit window there is a drop down menu to listen to the audio fragments. The audio from the database is playing normally. But all the audio I’ve spent hours uploading is inaudible. Which is really impractical when you want to check and edit entries.
The same audio does work during review and preview.

Much better now. However, when reviewing difficult words (by course), the last one won’t go away. I’ve done it 6 times now and it still tells me I have 1 (the same) outstanding word. I get 175 points each time so I could be top of the leader board if I carry on.

silverbear it’s probably “starred”. If you click the star next to the word when seeing it, it’ll be removed from your difficult words

Thanks @duaal we’ll look into that asap

After removing the lightening, it still displayed as difficult word & reported an error when I tried to test it. But as soon as other words came up for review in the same course and I cleared them, it went away. Thanks Daniel.
