"review" not functioning, again?

I’m pretty sure they just edit the files directly on the web server.
Using whoever they can grab off the street…
Only explanation I can think of.

it is not the first time problem. Last time it was fixed relatively quick.

Thanks for this notice. Good luck.

I do hope I will not lose my “Learning Streaks” as these are
keeping me going .

yeah, nice to see that they follow one of my suggestions… they did not replace the traveling sun, but at least a message

It is true that it really helps to see some kind of reaction from the team, but it is still pretty frustrating to have to cope with these problems once again. Not being able to use the site properly although I’m paying to do so, is sure no good at all… And even though I know I’m doing this to learn something new (proof: I’m reviewing although I know I won’t get any points ^_^), I notice I’m especially concerned about my precious 560+ days streak…T.T

See the post by @knarusk in this thread: Memrise website and apps are down [ Edit: Fixed! ]

It explains what you may need to do to get your streak reinstated.

I really don’t care about streaks (I don’t need that feature, it clutters my board, I can still block it and hope to never have to see it again on my screen) - I care about reviewing my items and getting rid of those items I did review…

Thank you very much for this great hint, alanh! Now I can feel a little bit more relieved…
I know streaks are nothing really important when it comes down to the whole learning per se, but I really invested a lot of time and effort to make it that far and losing that now would feel horrible…
So, thanks a lot, that made my day

Yeah the review function is not working. I get the same 10 words over and over again and the count doesn’t go down.
I only care about the points so I have a measurement of how much I have gone through today.
German 1 course.

dear memrise, you got me 2704 items to review only in the courses i’ve bee learning the last week… (with the others (in which I’m learning more or less solely for my personal enjoyment, i’m well above 8000)

I’m having the same issue. I’m trying to review words for a course I’ve completed but haven’t touched for a while and it just gives me the same words over and over even if I get the questions for the perfect every time.

Same issue here for me. And interesting enough, my web course review totals don’t even equal my iOS app review totals. Both are rising faster than I have ever seen before. (Oh how I wish my stock market portfolio figures could rise as fast as this !)

Hopefully they will resolve this (and ALL the associated other issues soon). I’m not even go to bother learning or reviewing anything until the dust settles on this nightmare.

At least this experience has tangibly shown me how much time I spend studying. I say around six hours, but actually HAVING those six hours back today and yesterday…so much free time – to read novels in foreign languages!

same here - very frustrating - everything was going great until I got to the last lessons in Spanish 6 - keep getting the same 5 phrases from “learn” - and the “review” function doesn’t seem to register my learning and practice and just keeps repeating the same five phrases - please fix - this is such a great learning tool. VERY DISAPPOINTING.
ALSO - I paid for the extra functionality - will I be reimbursed if you don’t get this fixed?

now it is Wednesday GMT. I still cannot “review” one darn item

3 days since looking “ASAP” into the “issue” of fully broken web version and a week (?) since the resurrection of the dreaded “comma bug”. :turkey:

unless we look together with the team for the island of the day before, I think we have to redefine the meaning of “ASAP”

hey, memrise team (@joshua?) , i think you overdid it (in cutting down items to be reviewed): in both these http://www.memrise.com/course/468536/2015-tocfl-vocabulary-level-iii/;http://www.memrise.com/course/467533/2015-tocfl-vocabulary-level-ii/
i did not review items for more than a week, i saw that I had items to review before the crash (which items i did not ewview during the last three days), and now you don’t let me review not even those marked as due “now”

I’m getting a bit worried. All my students use Memrise on a daily basis. Would it be possible to give a rough indication of when things might be back to normal. We’ve had problems before, but never for this long.

Hi, @brianhanney. It might be helpful to have a look here, where there’s been more discussion on these issues.

This post specifically is the most recent update from the staff, I believe:

Though I would honestly advise anyone to take the time estimates with a grain of salt…

Now it is more broken than ever before: I can’t review at all, not even the same ten words I have been reviewing for how many days now? I can’t learn new words at all.
Astounding incompetence exacerbated by total lack of information. Have I received even a single email from Memrise to explain what’s going on? Has my pro membership been addressed - do I get my subscription extended or refunded? Hell no!
I almost never pay for any online service/software and regret doing it in this case.

it is not “more broken”, it is “somehow broken”, or simply “broken”: you cannot review those 10 because you already did, as you say. Look into the levels, and see when those items are due for review.

The counter is not functioning; basically one has to review blindly (on the principle “let’s see what happens”.)
