If It Aint Broke, Don't Fix It

What the hell is wrong with you guys - why do you keep pointlessly changing things?

I’m not quite sure what the wisdom is in removing the time limit but anyway I’m not here to talk about that. I am currently unable to review my 96 words for today because the audio wont play. This may or may not be the fault of my computer but in the past I would right click on the audio icon and open the source location in a new tab and that would allow the audio to play. However, after the slightly annoying recent changes it is no longer possible to right click on the audio icon and I’m left with 96 words to review and counting.

Can you pretty please just change it back to how it was before?

If anyone else is having the same problem I have found a solution that works for Firefox.

Right click on the audio symbol and select Inspect Element. Go to Console and there you should see two messages. The second one should contain the URL to the audio source. If you copy and past this into another tab the audio should play.

The time limit is not gone. Are you sure you’re not running a script that’s disabling it? As for your audio issue, i’ve never heard of that, and it doesn’t happen to me. To test if there isn’t some issue with your web browser, try using another one and see if it fixes your issue.

ahem… because you did not hear of that, it does not mean is not-existent

Yes it’s the same in other browsers and I am not running any script that I know of and have made no changes to my browser which could account for it.

The time limit seemed to remain on certain courses but now it is missing from all of them and the review style now reflects the android app. So to me it seems clear that Memrise have made specific changes to the review system.

However if this is not correct could someone from Memrise please let me know what browser settings or add ons could be blocking the time limit.
