Thank you for the comment! Sumimasen and Suimasen are used interchangeably. Although they’re both polite, suimasen has a slightly more casual feel.
Ok… now is everything wrong. My small progress in japanese 1 is gone, but it says my streak in japanese is 12 days?
I noticed last night (~12hr ago) when I was reviewing my completed Japanese 1 course on desktop that い had become a ‘new word’ for me that I had to use ‘Learn new words’ to add back. Perhaps there was a glitch around then you can trace back with the engineers?
Regarding お茶, thank you for clarifying. I think since the focus is on Japanese context, that お茶 should be translated as just tea, but “こうちゃをください。” should be translated as “Black tea, please” since to a Japanese waiter that’s what you would be specifying. Alternatively, the card for “tea please” could become “おちゃをください。”
Now, I got my progress back, but still don’t have sign for “i”. Not even on the web.
So, it isn’t matter.
Should I just pick that other japanese 1 course?

OK. Last try. I will remove app from my phone and install it again. I am not sure what to do about web, but I am not using it very often anyway.

I have to assume that the courses for German speakers are plagued by the same (too many) problems?
level 2 in Japanisch 1 has よ rendered as “vo”, which is a bit strange… (i would start with this very msg also a forum for the courses for German speakers, however, the “regular” of me did not learn how to split and paste threads/msgs)

Thanks for your post. The ‘swap’ issues only happen in English and Dutch. This is because Japanese for English speakers and Japanese for Dutch speakers were amongst the very first Japanese courses to be uploaded. Sorry for the confusion.
The よ transliteration has been fixed. Please give it a moment and/or log in and log out before the changes are reflected.

I’m sorry to hear that after multiple attempts the い is still missing. I’m not sure if there’s anything else I can do for you since it is being displayed on other devices. I’ve added い twice to see if that makes any difference. Please keep me posted if anything else happens.

Thanks for the reply. い has become a new word because it has been added! I hope it didn’t surprise you too much. It will be useful for the prospective users when they’re prompted to type はい。
Thank you for your input regarding the tea discussion. I’m thinking about having two teas:
お茶: tea; green tea
紅茶 black tea
and the phrases accordingly. These changes won’t appear immediately as we need to have audio for them first. Please bear with me as I sort them out.

Ok! I opened a separate forum for the course for German speakers (but I’ll use English, no worries)
Not necessarily a bug, but it’s a little frustrating that the order, even for answers like this, has to be the same as the app shows. Obviously “Earth; Soil” is just as correct as “Soil; Earth”, but whenever this happens, it gets marked as a wrong answer just because the order isn’t the same.
For some reason, the app has the second translation in hiragana, as: あんがいすきです, which is just a repeat of the top, rather than what it should be: 案外好きです. It is really helpful being able to reference the bottom translation to help remember what the kanji readings are for a translation, and that is normally what it does, but in my current lesson, I think 2 lesson 13 or something, it does this for a couple of different translations, which probably should be addressed.

This is very frustrating. I will add earth; soil as alternative so that you won’t be marked wrong when you enter the answers in a different order. I will be doing the same for other kanji items that have answers separated with semi colon. Thanks.
