Japanese 2 Level 16

Suimasen - Excuse me
Sumimasen - Excuse me
Is there such a thing in Japanese, Suimasen, or is it a misprint. Because I can not help but write Sumimasen and get it wrong, knowing it is right, which is frustrating.

Hello
If it’s a question regarding an official Japanese course, it’s best for you to post on the topic:
[Course Forum] Japanese 1-7 by Memrise

Thus, your question is more likely to be read and / or answered. KanaTsumoto is responsible for the official Japanese courses, for both English speakers and speakers of other languages.

Regarding your question, it was answered in a post that is on the topic that I added to you. The post is:

This question was answered by MarikoMiz. At the time the question was asked, she was responsible for the Japanese course.

I honestly thought I had posted it on the proper place, but seem I did not. Just to clarify then, what did I do wrong, and what to do the next time I post.
Thank you.

It would seem as though this indeed has come up before, so here is a follow up question…
Why can we not answer the question as either answer, obviously Sumimasen and Suimasen are the same thing, it should be so I could put either, seems rather daft to me, especially as many people see it the same as I do. Could this be done, just wondering.

I believe official courses don’t add alternatives because you can’t specify the sound per alternative that is typed. And they prefer to keep it simple.
It is a thing, just not on courses made by Memrise.

Basically they go for the basic of basics, and if you have questions, that is what the forum is for. So it is easier to answer question that do not need to be answered, if the course was made slightly different. I do wonder which one is better.
That you, Ryou San, as always, your answers are brilliant.

Hi @Dvoyagerncc746568372,

Good point about the marking system should be accepting both answers. In the current functionality, we can’t apply that, but we will consider it for new contents! Thank you for your suggestion!
