to the style i’ve added some other tweaks, i can send you the style in a PM, but you would have to take out the lines blocking the clock and the goal setters and some other things as well

Unless /i had access to memrise’s data, I could never answer that question.
I recently achieved Memperor-rank and I was looking forward to working hard few years to become Overlord. Now my goal is supposed to be getting from level 17 to…level 18. Not the same thing at all and I lost most of my motivation.
I understand there is always resistance to new ideas but that Ziggy and new levels will look ridiculous permanently.

you know they had that empty space … where there was said more badges to come… instead they took… i only had 75 but stil… i worked for that 75

I used to be a Meminence and now I’m a Level 16 looney toon… Actually, I am not keen on badges but I do miss the streak counter/badge. This is a change for the worse.

Does anyone know the points needed to reach the new levels?
I’m level 13 and it says I will reach level 14 at 2.5 million point, but the old graphics showed level 14 at 5 million points.
From an earlier post, it shows level 17 at 50 million points, but the announcement showed 78.125 million.

Also not sure why they had to create a new looney toons when there are already so many out there. I’m not a fan of how the character is positioned on the profile pic. Using level number is kind of dry and removing streak badges isn’t great.

I miss the old system too. Why there is no option to choose? We’re not little children and the absolute majority of the comments is clearly against “Ziggy”. This should be reason enough to return to the old system.

I created an account just to say that the recent changes to the level system has strongly discouraged me from continuing to use Memrise. My progress seems less impactful when illustrated by a cartoon space creature than a clear, definitive badge with a number.

This looks like a fiasco. HIS EYES. Who drew this? I’m sorry… If 18 is the maximum, I’m expecting him to be wearing a monocle, his eyes crossed, and his skin will probably be purple because everything is purple.

So there are new images for the ranks, seems like an improvement.
I don’t use Memrise to gather points so the ranks are in my opinion not very important.
While the graphics team has been working on this I hope the bug fixing team has been working on the bugs in the iOS app.
It feels like the design team couldn’t decide Ziggy’s place.
Should it be a mascot for Memrise? Or an avatar for the user? Or a progress indicator?
The result is a mix of all of them.
When I click on the profile button in the top right it doesn’t display my name anymore but Ziggy.
From now on am I Ziggy? And everyone else is Ziggy too? Ziggy has ranks and points not me? OK.
Then on the left side, my profile picture also has a Ziggy on it. So what’s the more important avatar: the user’s picture or the User’s Ziggy? Am I the trainer/owner of a Ziggy or am I Ziggy?
Quite confusing.
I can imagine the Memrise team looked at Duo on Duolingo and said ‘hey we need a mascot’. But there Duo has clear role: a site mascot and acts like the trainer/tutor of the user, but does not want to be the user, or be the progress marker.
