how to do it right? …it is so real that I need to get some sleep 1.a.m here… Read you on the day that comes

As the Good Book tells us, just be kind to them, and they will be kind to you (and your food in the soil). Love wins out, fences or no fences.

My bad, some big words creep in. Lack of sleep here due to shake of earth.

I do not like when the earth shakes. I do not like :sailboat:s on not calm seas, too much of shakes

The land that I live in here in the east came up from the sea one quake at a time. So each quake will lift it a bit more. Soon it will be quite tall. Then the rain will wash it down to the sea. I will not be here to see that, but I read of it in a book in school when it was my main field to learn when I was young. Good night to you. Your day is old. My day is new. One big world. One big smile.

@mizinamo ~ How was your trip to Wales? How was the rain, food and sheep? Was the talk there hard or soft on your ears? Please do share of your trek, for who knows, some of us here may hope to see that fair land with our own eyes some day.

@pdao, thank you that you want to know!

My trip to Wales was good. The rain was just at night, which was good for me as well.

I saw sheep as well, though not on the road as I had thought.

I met the man who taught me Welsh through the course:

(Can you see me with him? I do not know if just I can see the pic. If you do not see the pic, I will have to try owt else.)

We spoke nowt but Welsh when I was there. That was great. When I heard him speak I knew what he meant most of the time. When I was in shops and spoke there, I did not know what they said all the time, for they spoke fast and with words that I did not all know. They were not used to boys and girls who still learn, I think. Yet still I tried to speak to some in Welsh and I did know what they said to me at times.

I saw the set of a film that they make for the “boob tube”. The film is called Rownd a Rownd and it is in Welsh. You can see it twice a week.

Those are not real shops. Boys and girls work there just in the film.

I like to watch that film so that I can hear Welsh as they speak it in north Wales, for that is the kind of Welsh that the man taught me in the course.

Then I went to a place with a long, long name. Trains stop there and there is a long sign with the long name on it. There is no place in the whole land with a name as long as that, I think. Here I am in front of the sign:

There were some men who worked on the bridge for boys and girls to cross the tracks. One of them shot that view of me so I could think of the place when I came back home. I thank him for that.

I can say the name of the place but not all can  There was a man on the news a while back who could say it as well – he used the name when he spoke about rain and sun and wind for the next days.

Then I went to a place by a lake. I went on a train that runs on steam by the side of that lake.

It is a small train and the tracks are not wide. In times gone by, those tracks were used to take slate from the hills to the sea. Now the tracks do not go all the way to the sea and the steam train is just for fun. The tracks end at the end of the lake and the train just goes to the end and comes back.

And they do not take much slate from those hills there now. There is a place near the train stop that tells of the past of that place and how men got slate from the hills. You can read lots and see how things were once. You can see homes where men who worked in slate mines used to live – they took the homes once the mine had closed and put them in this place for all to see: took them down piece by piece at the place near the mine and then built them up piece by piece in the place that tells of the past.

I bought some things of slate to take home with me. Now I can put my plate on a piece of slate when I eat, and my cup on a piece of slate too  Then I can think of Wales when I eat and drink from that slate.

What I did not like so much was the flight back. The place where planes fly is all right when you come but the part of it where you leave is not so nice – it is full of shops. And you have to wait by the shops for a long time if you try not to be late, for the right gate is not shown till just a short while till the plane leaves. Till then, you do not know the right gate and so you have to sit there by the shops, with lots of boys and girls who wait with you, though they might not fly to the same land as you.

But while I was in Wales, things worked out well for me, I think. I saw what I had hoped to see and spoke and heard some Welsh. So I am glad that I went on my trip.

And I am glad that I went on my own. I could change my plans if I want. I could stay as long or as short as I want.

It was a good trip.

Thank you!

@mizinamo how nice. I have been to Wales with my husband several times and I really love it. I could not understand one word though, hihi.

Hi @Petri_Wilson72!
This is a word game thread. All you say needs to be one sound chunk long. No big words. Try it’s fun

try some new words, these are too long

@mizinamo ~ Oh my, what a great trip you had ! The pics were a nice thing to add. My wife and I try to say the long town name - we fail each time. Out of breath we are, but not out of laughs.

In the land here in the east our town names are small. Most have two sound chunk names. If a town name here was as long as what you saw in Wales, I could never say it. I am not a smart one (not in the talk of this land, and not like you are with Welsh.)

It is great that you can speak Welsh. That is a great aid when you go to Wales. I would be lost there if I had to speak. I know but one Welsh word. It is how one says “yes”. It is a small word. I like small words.

I like trains too. Old ones more than new ones. I like the sounds they make, and the views they give when one goes from place to place. I like trains more than cars, planes or boats. There are not a lot of trains in the land of the west. They love cars. Here in the land of the east, we love trains. I rode one the last time the sun was up, and will ride one again three days from now. :steam_locomotive:

It is good that you brought home some slate, and not a sheep. Slate is good to have in the house or at a job. It is hard to keep a sheep at home or on a job. They have a lot of needs, make a lot of noise, and need to eat green things all the time (which may be hard to find at home or on the job). And my how friends would talk about sheep. I doubt they would talk much about slate. :sheep:

Thank you to share your post with all of us. We can now say we have been to Wales too.

Have a great day (or night).

(I hope no long words crept in here…) :worried:

@Atikker Hi I would love to do so, but today we are getting to go on holidays. We are only going for a week and were we are there is nog internet. We will be back the first of April so I might try is then. Thanks for inviting me, I appreciate that

 Silly this was just an answer to the story of her.

Yes, I do too. On a train, I can get up and move if I want, but not on a car or a plane. And you can see more from a train than from a plane.

With a train, you do not have to come to the place where it starts a long time ere it leaves like with a plane. (Though the “star” train that goes from France to the place east of Wales does have more checks and so you need more time. It is a bit like a plane and I do not like that.)

In two months, I will take one more trip to a land that is not mine - it is to the east and south of here, and the speech of that land is a bit like the speech of the czars, a bit more like the speech of the Poles, and a lot like the speech of the Czechs. That land is to the south of the land of the Poles. I will take the train there, too. Once, I took the plane but I think I like the train more. Even though I have to sit on the train for a long time.

In that land, I will meet lots of boys and girls who love to learn the speech of lands that are not their own. Some speak in three ways, some in six or ten or more. But they all love to learn. We meet and talk of speech. It is fun. I have been to such a meet twice. It is good to be with boys and girls who like what you like.

The last times, the meet was in the head town of my land, but this year, the meet will be in the head town of that land where they speak a bit like Czechs. I have been to that land before [oops!] and I can speak the speech a bit as well. But I need to speak more, I think, to train – I spoke more Welsh in the past weeks and months and some of the speech that is like Czech has dropped out of my mind.

In the lands to the east of where I live (the land of the czars and the lands that that land once ruled), I think there are lots of trains that go at night. You can sleep on them. Those lands are so big that you need more than one day to cross them. Here in my land, there are few trains that go at night where you can sleep, and those that there are get cut at times. I think one ground for this is that you can take a plane for not much gold, so lots of boys and girls fly if they have to go far and don’t go on a train where they sleep.

In your land of the far east, are there trains where you can sleep?

Yes  If I want to think of Wales, I think a sheep would not be a good thing to take with me. I agree. Sheep :sheep: are nice, but they are not good in a small home.

I just saw one:

I love this thread. It is fun. I like to read the thoughts of my friends. It gives me much much joy to read of your trips and your stays to lands I have not seen.

I do not have the time to post as much as I would like. I am glad that my friends post.

This day I spend my time to plan an in-class test for kids in my school who learn the rules of how mass is not lost when a change takes place. I love my main work. And now I plan for how to make my school a place that is good for teens to learn. Should we have field trips? To where? And how to pay? Ah, if we ride the bus, we can get there for no cost. These are the things on which I think. It is a good job.

I say that I teach, but in the end it is the teens who choose to learn. Or not. The next day I will give a test and I will see who has learnt.

I got a gift! But I had to pay for it :frowning:

The gift came from the States. It was from a web site where I read and write. Since I wrote a lot on that web site, they thought they would send me a gift. It was a kind of coat.

You can see boys and girls who already (oops) got their coat here:

https://www.quora.com/What-do-Quora-Top-Writers-2017-look-like-in-their-black-Patagonia-jacket

The gift came to my land a few days in the past. But the post could not send it to my house, since it came from the States and I had to pay tax on it first.

So I had to go to the place where you pay tax on things from lands that are not my land.

They asked me how much the coat cost. I did not know, since I had not bought it. But I had got mail from the web site that said a price. So they used that price to see how much I should pay.

And then I had to pay quite a lot… for a gift! That made me a bit sad. But it was less than if I had bought the coat – one third of the price or so. So at least that was good. Part of why it cost so much was that the cost of post was used to find out the cost of tax. And it costs a lot to send things from the States to my land. That made the tax go up.

Now I can’t wait to get home to try on the new coat to see if it will fit me well. And I think I have to take a pic for that thread I linked to

Your words are all fine  They are all short.

I had not known or I did not know might be good, though.

oops, did not see that error, sorry!

In spain they say “hoy”…In that day was quite warm. So warm has not been this year.

(Do you know how to say this day? My mind is not full at all)
