I think that the iOS app suck in comparisson to the Android app. But lately, this feature was omitted from the app itself. I love this feature since it helped me to double check the reading of some Japanese kanjis, but now, it is completely useless since:
I have already contacted the owner of the course and the person said that he did not moved, erased or modified anything in the course.
It is a basic function, the app USED TO have it.
I am even considering getting an ANDROID phone, since the IOS app sucks.
PLEASE Memrise team, better work on the BUGS than releasing a new DASHBOARD.
What version of the app do you have? I have the latest version 2.1.14 and also I am testing the BETA new version of the app. In both versions, the pronunciation does not appear. Today I managed to install an old version (2.1.7) and in this one it appears. it seems to be a problem with the versions not with the settings.
Thank you for replying and trying to help me out with this.
AS you can see in my two pictures, one is the iPhone with (2.1.7) and the pronunciation is there.
The second is the new BETA Memrise app and in this one the pronunciation does not appear. I tried logging in and out but it seems not to work.
Iâm having the same issue, but I canât seem to get Memrise to accept the correction when I put a checkmark in âshow after testsâ? When I click âsaveâ nothing happens. Never mind, I am a contributor - donât have permissions⌠Curious to see if this will enable the info. If so, I will put in a request to the course creator.
I have exactly the same problem with my iOS app, with the âOffical Memriseâ A1 french course - which makes me think itâs a pretty big problem. Iâm constantly getting answers wrong because of it (i.e. no information about formal vs. informal for verb conjugations).
I hope they fix it soon because otherwise theyâll lose lots of users, especially those who only use the app and not the website!
@linkf1 Are you saying this issue only occurs on the Beta build? I canât seems to reproduce, Iâve used both App Store and Beta build.
@eve.jamieson Thanks for letting us know. This is a strange bug, Iâve managed to toggle on the attribute for A1 French for all iOS devices. The attribute should now be displayed on your device once youâve logged out and back in.
It seems like Iâm missing something, but just donât know what. Iâve tested with iOS 8.4 - 9.1 both App Store and Beta build and the pronunciation is shown.
It would be great to know if anyone else is also experiencing this issue.
If itâs not already, it seems like this should be a default setting for all courses (which can be turned off if desired) as lots of courses seem to have the same problem.
I have the same or similar issue.
I have created a course where i made my own attribute category.
Before it was shown in the iOS app but now it is not.
I have checked settings of the attribute column and it is set to be shown.
Sorry for my unprofessional way to reactivate this topic.
But I had a similar problem with the iOS-App.
Iâm talking specific about a german course â100 wichtigste Ereignisse der Weltgeschichteâ.
The author put a lot of effort in adding extra information to the dates, and the words (dates) are only have as helpful without the additional information which where shown before the last two updates of my iOS-App.
I also checked the course on the desktop version - and the information is shown there.
So anyone has an idea if it will be resolved with the next update?
(I mean: it worked before. so they supposedly just have to reset something(?) )
