Hello. I have an issue with my course. When there is a word displayed and learners have to pick the correct picture for this word there is always one possible option. It is always correct. There are other words with their pictures in the course. What can I do to display more pictures as options?
Please, post the link to the course and tag @ BeaTrisy.
Hi,
I had the same issue 2 days ago - but only on the app version.
Today I have again 4 pictures showing up - but they are all 4 the same correct answer…
Course: https://www.memrise.com/course/1872268/quiz-chanteurs/
Still same issue today: 4 animated gifs but always the same (correct) answer, displaying poorly (you have to wait about 20 seconds in order for the whole 4 gifs to load as animations, at first they get frozen one after the other)
I’ve just tried your course @Mister_Mori. Yes I agree - it is odd.
Although not on the MemRise team, if you’d like to make me a “CONTRIBUTOR” briefly, I can have a look at the structure for you.
PS I expect you set up this course for fun - but you might also find lots of similar courses by searching on the web version.
Hi DW7, thanks for the reply and offer to help. Do you mean my course or Mister_Mori’s one?
Hi @siglinde, yes @Mister_Mori’s “bag” issue.
I’ve just had a look at your now on the web. It worked fine for me.
Sometimes, I’ve noticed, that the app takes a while to update it’s version of a course!
Just raised this as an android problem.
Yes, today the “same picture” problem is solved, both on the app and on the web (I don’t know if it is linked to the fat that I duplicated one level, renamed it, changed testing order… @Mister_Mori: I tried this to solve my “frozen save button” issue (related here: Save button not working) - maybe it will fix your picture problem as well.
I personally don’t think it has anything to do with the duplication or reordering.
I think there is a lag in the app version or window on the course being behind the web version (see bug issue I mentioned above).
@Mister_Mori’s problem could be something else as it’s on the web.
Thanks @Mister_Mori, I’ve reversed the level twice and created a “reversed” level.
Play with the extra level and also try adding some more items.
PS I think I’ve solved it for you.
I see your course, @Mister_Mori, is “incomplete” so it’s not “published” yet, which does not seem to have affected my solution.
Have you started the first level again and tested both levels yet?
Thank you @DW7, now it works. I’m not publishing the course until it’s ready. How did you reverse it?
Duplicate the level, then change the testing by clicking under the title ie “Test on English, prompt with Image” and click on the wooden spatula-like object.
Then click on the word “swap” in the box.
Don’t forget to rename the level.
Let me know if you need an image.
Problem recurs. Now I don’t have 4 times the same correct answer, but twice. And it is in a new, different course: LSF Charmille - by Nathanne - Memrise
Sometimes odd things like that have happened when you have too few items to choose from. I see your course is quite large, but that level only has 4 items. Have you got 10 or more items in the same column of data?
Also funny thing happen if names are similar - are the names of all your images different?
Do you have several user names or several friends working on the same courses?
This course is by Nathanne
Am I ‘speaking’ to one person or several?
ok, this (=not enough items) seemed to be the reason indeed. Thanks for your advice. I forward it to the course creator (we created the level for demonstration purposes and did not bother to add more items - by adding three more right now the problem was solved. Again : merci !!).
p.s.: Nath&Anne are working in a children’ center. I taught them how to use Memrise and showed them how to create their own course. Since they just start on Memrise, I forwarded our (common) question/remark to the forum.
