What is really bad about it: Those question also appear sometime on the “normal” strengthening mode (don’t know how it is called in English, because my memrise app has a German user interface).
At that point you can only guess the correct answer, which is terribly annoying, because more often that not I get it wrong and the word/phrase is added to my “difficult” word, even though I know it perfectly well.
@eekboom , Can you just turn off the Meet the Natives mode until this bug is fixed, so that you don’t have the issue with the word/phrase being added to your “difficult words” list?
Thank! That was good advice. I didn’t even know that the option exists. But now I found and switched off “Video” in the multimedia settings.
Still, I hope that this is being fixed soon, because I really look forward to the feature in the Swedish courses.
I must say I’m really grateful that there finally are videos in swedish courses and they actually still are working in my device

Joshua I have the same issue. I use an nexus 6P and the meet the natives mode keeps being suggested, but then it says “the natives have escaped!”
My girlfriend uses an iPhone and it works for her. Do I need to reinstall the app or something?
Is this the full error message you see? -> “The Natives have escaped, Kidding, This level has no videos yet”
Yes, however I know the level has videos (at least for iPhone) as my girlfriend is on the same level and has natives

Does it really work for her? I have Android and still nothing. I see or "“The Natives have escaped, Kidding, This level has no videos yet” message, or a grey square. Should I reinstall the app?
Ok, now it has changed. I’m doing Swedish 3, level 24th. Miracuously videos appeared, BUT when I want to come back to the previous levels and watch the videos I see a grey square or the message about escaped natives. I chacked Swedish 4 and it seems to work there. Anyone has similar problems?
I only get this message when I have already viewed the videos but have not finished the level. When you finish the level and on the main screen tap meet the Natives it always works (at least for me)
When there are phrases to review (even if this means only 1 blue number) the Natives will return and you can do the whole section (good to use when you want to review the Natives but don’t want to finish other words in a level)
Here are pics to show that
When there is no level half-finished, the natives work perfectly.
When you already have finished the Natives but not the whole level, then they escape
And if you finish the level they will return
This goes to any official course with the Natives. You first get Natives then you need to finish the level than you’ll get natives from next level, if you finish them(the Natives) then you’ll need to finish all other words in that level to get more natives from the next level
It works for me that way
