Hi,
this is my experience:

  • Which device are you using?
    Laptop, Ubuntu
  • Which browser are you using?
    Firefox, but I have tried Chromium, there I see the same phenomenon.
  • Are you on our new Beta experience?
    I am on Beta, but switching to the previous version didn’t fix it, nor did switching back to Beta.
  • Is this only happening on Listening Skills or other modes too?
    This is happening on all modes.
    To me, it has always appeared like this: every audio is played correctly when appearing only once or twice during one session, but when it is displayed the third time, it’s muted.

I have the same problem starting from 2 days ago.

  • Which device are you using?
    MBP (Late 2013) Big Sur
  • Which browser are you using?
    Google Chrome; same problem on Safari and Firefox
  • Are you on our new Beta experience?
    Yes; the same problem is not found when Beta is off
  • Is this only happening on Listening Skills or other modes too?
    All modes except when a word is first introduced in Learn New Words

Turning Beta off is okay for learning new words, but Speed Review is completely different so it doesn’t really fix the problem.

Yes, there are probably more problems because now the WebMediaPlayer error is gone, but sound problems are not. I tested on Firefox with the same effect (both Chrome and Firefox on Ubuntu 20.04). And indeed, turning beta off is probably the way, sound works so far, but I got used to UI of beta version ;(

  • Which browser are you using?
    chrome but it’s happening in all browsers(edge, Mozilla,Safari).

  • Are you on our new Beta experience? (you can see this in your settings . Is ‘Beta’ at the bottom ticked for you?)

    in all modes whenever any track repeats again in a session it doesn’t sound the track

I think we should wait to the 8/3/21 ans it will fix , and you can in these 3 days turn off the beta version and learn and if it still just review cause in review you can pass the test in one time.

I have the same problem.

Laptop computer.
Google Chrome.
Beta on or off it’s the same for either.
Happens with listening skills and others too.

It’s a waste of time and money if I can’t hear some of the words.

Yeah, it’s unusable for me right now. I’ve tried a bunch of browsers in PC and Opera in Android. The sound doesn’t seem to work properly with any of them.

How do I turn off Beta? Thanks in advance.

The problem is not solved completely but there is no problem in speed test now. I think just speed test problem solved because sound problem keep going the other things.

Go to the top right and click on your profile picture and click on “Settings” after that uncheck the small checked square in the bottom ( The new Memrise experience (Beta) ) and after that click on “Save”

I have used the old version today and it`s very good (and there is some points are better than the beta version like when you fail and a word test they let you to type it while you can seeing it ) and if want to know how to turn beta version off go to the top right and click on your profile picture and click on “Settings” after that uncheck the small checked square in the bottom ( The new Memrise experience (Beta) ) and after that click on “Save”

Thank you for answer, maybe I can try the old version. Actually, i want to keep going with beta but sound problems are annoying.

Yeah , sound problems makes you don`t want to learn more , but the old version isn’t too bad like how you think , just the design is the bad thing but okay everything

I choosed the old version, no sound problem, design is not good like you say it. Using the old version until beta version fixed is more sensible.

same issue started within past 2 days, really makes it unusable

firefox 90.0.2, win10, beta

Even I changed the old version, the issue had still remained.
I’ve temporarily solved the issue by changing the audio test selection to no at setting → learning tub( Memrise), and I will wait until the issue is finally solved by the devs while I don’t use the audio tests.
