Possibly because, if the person isn’t already active on this forum, they are not ‘PM-able’. In other words, it is only possible to PM someone who has already found their way to this forum and has gone through the registration process.

That’s right, you wouldn’t be able to send it in the first instance. Really the only people who were contactable were the course creators and contributors and, well I guess those who had partaken in a discussion thread received an email update when that thread was updated …
I too am waiting for individuals to discover this forum and join up. Another of life’s waiting games. 
That’s amazing! I was not even aware that was a feature lol. In fact, I was not aware that a lot of the things being mentioned in these forums were a thing. I suppose I need to become more active!

There are ‘trust’ levels within this forum which open different things as you go along. It’s meant to deter spammers and trolls. Have a look at the descriptions of the different trust levels under the “Badges” heading when you click on the 3 bars icon in the top right corner of the screen. If you haven’t already looked at the “Start Here” section of the “Welcome to the Forum” area under “Categories” you will find more details of what is here.

How do I get basic user. Do I have to send multiple posts
Read a few posts, maybe read http://community.memrise.com/c/welcome. Post something in Who are you and what is your Memrise ID?. Read the site guidelines, make basic edits to your profile and throw a bit of love around (like some posts) if you see some you like. You’ll have the trust level required to PM before you know it.
Otherwise, if it is a course issue that up you’re here for, then use the search function (top right) to search for the course and look for a topic tagged course-forum and titled with your specific course.

I was trying to contact with a course creator for several mistakes that I discovered but I see that we need to be a member of the forum, an active one even. I’ve been using this app as pro user almost every day and I’ve just heard this now. It doesnt make sense really, why wasn’t I a member of this forum automatically when I signed up for the first time…

There is a Trust System operating on this forum and some features, like Private Messaging, become available as you progress through the trust levels. You can find out more about it in these topics:

You are currently a ‘New User’ but you only need to spend some time opening and reading a few topics in the forum to get to the next level ‘Basic User’. That’s when Private Messaging will become available to you.

I would love to contact some who created a course. Sounds like I will have to wait until I receive a badge. Looks like it will take a while!

Hi, @bethazavedo6! what course are you talking about (a link to that course would be nice). who is the creator of that course? there is a possibility that this partiucular course will always be witout the audio and you just have to find another course
