Hi everyone! I just purchased an annual pro subscription but sadly found that the offline mode only works for the Memrise-created courses, for example, Japanese 1–7. It does not work for other courses like Genki. When I try to download Genki it stops at about 50% and tells me it has some network problems. I tried restart the phone and reinstall the app on two phones running iOS 12 and got the same result.
I use Memrise with Genki to learn Japanese and I bought the subscription and thought I could use it while commuting on the subway. I’m a little disappointed but I love Memrise and I hope this bug gets fixed soon.
Hi Marshall! Thanks for your reply. That is strange, as I still need to download the official courses to make it work offline.
I searched the forum and found a lot of users have been struggling downloading courses and some of them saw same thing as I did, being the download stops at 50% and notifies network issue. This must be a bug then. What do you think?
Thank you very much! I tried to download the course you linked but I got the same results—not working! I guess there’s some difference between iPad and iPhone versions too. I’ll keep an eye on the thread regarding download issues while waiting for more help. Thank you for your time!
I’m suddenly unable to download my course for offline use (it has about 2500 words). I receive the message “Download Problem - Please check your network connection and try again,” even though I’m connected to wifi. This started happening a week or two ago. Uninstalling app, restarting phone, reinstalling app doesn’t fix.
I just upgraded to Pro and am unable to download a language pack. I am able to download other language packs, but not all. I have tried uninstalling the app, restarting my phone and then reinstalling the app, but was still unsuccessful.
I’m in my 7 days trial and thinking to buy the lifetime version, but I can’t download any course (French) to my phone, and no solution found.

I have the same problem. I use the last iOS with the last version of the APP in an iphone 8. I am suscribed and downloaded the english course (level 4) but if I am without connection, the same creen as the other user appears and I can’t study more lessons.
Over four months later and no response from Memrise tea? I’m a longtime pro subscriber and have the same problems. When can we expect these bugs to be addressed? Too many bugs regularly springing up for a paid service.
