Locked Planets on Android but not iOS?

I have the app installed on both Android and iOS and everything is locked on Android but isn’t on iOS?
Is this a bug?

The Android device is a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 and the iOS device is an iPod Touch

I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, tried clearing the cache/data, tried logging in and out and it still does this, any ideas?

EDIT I can access all the lessons via web/iOS, just not on my Android device.

I think the iOS app is often behind the Android app in terms of features, so the locking feature may just not be present in the iOS app yet.

I can access all of the content listed on iOS without a problem. My partner uses the same app on her Android phone and there are no locks either.

Hmm… that’s interesting that she’s also using Android but doesn’t see the locks. Is she doing a different course, or has her app perhaps just not been updated yet?

Same course. But as I said in the edited post, I can access everything on the web and iOS, just not on my android device. It is very strange.

I’m using Android and everything is locked for me too. Very frustrating.

Same problem here with the Spanis 1 course, it’s locked on Step 3 with Android, and everything unlocked with iOS… Could we have some feedback on this ?

I had the same problem, very frustrating indeed, luckilly i found the web version. it would be nice to know if it is a bug or a move to make the android app a paying one.

Has anyone figured out why this is happening? I’ve only recently started using the app to study French, and I’m only able to move to the second planet. I would like to know if I will not be able to use the service without a Pro membership.

I have the same problem. I had done level 4 or 5 and I can’t access those for new words any more since yesterday although I finished them already (but at this moment I can only access level 1 and 2). They have a red lock now on android. On the website everything seems to work fine, but because I started Japanese 1, there is no easy way for me to type the hiragana on the website, so that’s not a good solution.

It’s weird because my sister is using this app for a long time and she doesn’t seem to have that problem.

It seems that learning new words is locked under pro because of some unknown reason although it says on their website it should be free (and it was free).

Could you please try one of the user-created courses and see if it has the same issue? This may only be for the Memrise-created courses.

It’s only the case for the one Memrise-created course I tried. I didn’t try other courses except for a user-created Japanese course and that one works fine for now.

When searching around I did find a lot of people mentioning this either on reddit or in the comments of the Android app, so I am sure it’s not only for that one course.

Btw, it still works fine for my sister and she is using Memrise created courses as well. It seems to be for newer created accounts.

Imo, it’s either a bug they introduced or they are trying to scam people out of their money and are plainly lying that you can learn languages for free with their app. I guess only time will tell.

I tried on several devices and have reinstalled the app and logged out of it, but nothing changed (I didn’t try creating a new account myself, but I have read that doesn’t work either). The website “works” (but is more or less unusable for Japanese) and the android app locks everything except for the first stage.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that it did work for a few days and I can’t even access the levels I finished before (as well as it clearly states on their website Free Modes: Learn New Words, Classic Review and Speed Review, so that’s just lying to your users)

Any news from official representatives about this topic will be appreciated.

It seems to be fixed for me with the latest update.
