Learn new words, ... all broken

Hi guys,

I made an update today, so I’m currently on version v2.3.19.6041. Every time I tried to launch a cession to learn new words I have the loading screen then app crashes.
Of course, just before I updated to the pro version \o/ (I hope the subscription will be postponed).

For the record, I’m on iphone 5c

I’m having the exact same problem - neither the review or the learn new words function works for any course - and I have an iphone 5c as well. Everything was working fine yesterday. I deleted and reinstalled it this just now but to avail.

I"m having the same problem, but on an older iPad (Model MD511LL/A) which only allows me to use iOS Version 10.3.3 (14G60). I suspect that the issue we are all having has to do with differences on the App update between the latest iOS (11 something) and the older versions of iOS.

Please fix fast. I have an up to date iPhone 7, but I really prefer to do my Memrise stuff on the iPad… for reasons of size!!!

Thanks for getting in touch. Sorry to hear you’re experiencing this issue.

In order to fix this, you’ll need to reinstall the app. This tends to refresh the system and solve the error.

In the latest version of Memrise (updated 16 hours ago) in addition to the app constantly crashing, the icon to switch between the app keyboard and the phone keyboard is gone. I’m learning Japanese and I like to use the phone’s Hirigana keyboard to practice my Japanese texting. I sure hope this isn’t a new ‘feature’ - if so, it would wreck my experience and I’d be cancelling my membership. :confounded:. Anyone else having these problems? I’ve uninstalled and re-installed, of course. Thanks!

Nop, you’ll have to fix it. I have already done this twice, so it’s not working :wink:
Look at how many people have this issue, you guys know it’s deeper than that

Just to confirm, you’ve already reinstalled the app and the problem is persisting.
If that is the case, can you provide links to the courses(and words) you’re having issues with.

Basically, I’m facing it with every courses. First, I faced it with HowToStudyKorean unit 1, then I tried you guys Korean course Korean 1, both are not working.
I’m updating my iphone to the last ios version and re-install the app. But according to erik43 message, it won’t fix the issue.

So update is done. I still cannot learn new words. I also tried with your English course, and the app crash (so this is not due to Korean alphabet.
However, I can review words BUT, as FoHmaddox, I cannot switch to the iphone keyboard. Functionality that I was using A LOOOOOTTTTTT. Is it a bug or is it on purpose?

Hi, I tried re-installing, but I still think this is an iOS version issue. As I said before, it works fine on my iPhone 7 with the latest iOS version, but on my old iPad which is now restricted to iOS 10.3, it doesn’t work.

Quick update: we found the issue, and it’s related to older iOS devices that are still running on the 32bit processor. There is a fix pending and it should be out shortly.

I knew it had something to do with my older phone. Glad to hear you found the issue.

I have a new phone, latest version of iOS, and my app is still crashing constantly and the keyboard icon is still gone, despite a reinstall…

Does the team also identify the issue with the functionality to switch from your keyboard to the iphone keyboard?
It would be very appreciated if you guys can fixe this or tell us “This is our new policy”

I can confirm that the missing Keyboard on typing tests is also an issue we’re looking into.
Thank you for drawing my attention to these problems. The team is working hard to get all the fixes out as soon as possible.

a) If you start a review with let’s say 3 words, you are prompted for more than 3 words in the test.
b) Crashes with courses that have audio wav files included.

Worked really well in the version before this so please revert back.

c) can’t review in offline mode

We’ve just released a fix. Updating to 2.3.20 (6137) will fix most of these issues.
The team still working on a fix for the issue of the system keyboard not being displayed on typing tests.

Please let me know if any of the issues persist after updating.
