I am happy that it helps you  It went through a large update today and should be free of mistakes. Unfortunately not the whole course contains updates yet, but I am working on it and improving it day by day  You can also suggest new topics to me :))

it is very good so far!! i love that u mix vocab with sentences! i am a beginner and i appreciate the hard work. i know how hard it is to make a course and also add audio! also thanks for the audio! most viet couses do not have audio or have audio only for some words and for a begginer it is very important to have full audio!!!

I am really happy to hear that since the lack of good courses was my motivation to create one of my own. Hope you will be able to learn the language on your own

I just wanted to first say that you have done an awesome job with the course. I recently stumbled upon it and it has been of great use in my Vietnamese studies. I have found some errors in the course, most relating to the English translations/word choices. I would be willing to help correct these mistakes and also help you with the course in whatever way I can if you’d like. Otherwise, I can PM you a list of errors as I come across them.

Also, if you are looking for inspiration for material to add to the course, I’ve been creating my own list of words and grammar which you can free free to pull from. I just published it recently. Most of the words and grammar points are what I would consider intermediate to advanced level. It’s not formatted well but you can take a look if you want.

Here’s the link: https://www.memrise.com/course/1340372/vietnamese-vocabulary-8/

Finally, anyone seriously interested in Vietnamese learning and looking to chat with someone who’s also serious about Vietnamese and other languages (specifically Asian ones), hit me up.

Again, awesome job on the course so far Eriinnye. You’re making life a lot easier for Vietnamese learners like myself.

Hello Albert,

first of all I thank you a lot for your comment, I was so happy to read that the course was helpful for you! As for the mistakes I am happy to accept your offer to correct those when you find them  Hence I will make you a course contributor as soon as possible!

I will also look into your courses - thanks in advance for allowing me to use them!
Since I and my husband are leaving for Vietnam soon I just don’t know when I will have the time to do so. Anyways thanks a lot!

I hope that we can improve the course together step by step so that people will be able to study Vietnamese more efficiently.

Just wanted to inform everyone that the course is still alive and will be updated soon :slightly_smiling_face:
If you see any mistakes feel free to write me!
I am also open for new topics ^^

Wow! Just checked out your course and loving it. Might give it a go. As I have been working on my Japanese course, so may just take a break by learning Vietnamese! Great course though.

Thanks a lot for your nice comment!
I don’t know if learning Vietnamese ist the right choice for a break but give it a go!
Let me know your opinion if you decide to do so
Have a nice day!

I like a challenge.

Hello Guys,

I just wanted to inform you, that I’ve updated the course and also decided to change the name since “for dummies” is problably copyrighted and I don’t want this course to disappear any time soon

Hello, thank you for this course as its a great help, but I wanted to ask, is it in the southern dialect or is it in the northern dialect?

Hello! Thank you for telling me that, I am glad to hear that it’s helpful.
The question is actually already answered in the course description but maybe I should make it clear here as well: It’s for NORTHERN VIETNAMESE. Although I think that Southeners can profit from it too - I wouldn’t suggest to turn on the audio in this case.

Have fun learning!

I have just updated the course again. It includes now a very interesting new topic: Passive voice. Check out Level 83, if you are interested

Hi Erin,

I have been using your course, it’s great! One small request: please correct the typo in Level 49: “Xe diện ngầm gần nhất ở đâu?” should be “Xe điện ngầm…”

Thanks!

Hey!
I am glad that you enjoy my course. Thanks a lot for reporting the mistake
I’ve corrected it already. Please feel free to contact me in the future as well when you notice something

Wish you a nice day!

Hi Erin,

Thanks for correcting that.

In Level 50, shouldn’t it be “khác biệt giữa” instead of “khách…”? Please take a look.
