[Course Forum] Turkish 1-7 by Memrise

Hi Etienneboursault!

Thank you for pointing out these mistakes, and I’m very sorry for the slow reply! I have corrected the first point like you said (yemediler - should be “eat-not-were-they”).

However, I can only see one screenshot, so I’m not sure which phrase you are mentioning that is missing the word “bira”.

Thanks again for your feedback, and happy learning!

I have just finished Turkish 1 of the memrise official course. It says 244/245. Despite everything being complete.

In Turkish 5, level 2, there is an item that reads: “Türkiye’nin nin ilk cumhurbaşkanı”. The second word “nin” shouldn’t be there.

There is a problem in Turkish 5 level 15 with “bu yıl Demokrat Parti daha iyi sonuçlar alacak” (this year the Democratic Party will get better results). The audio for both the man and woman only say “bu yıl Demokrat Parti daha iyi” (this year the Democratic Party is better). This is especially troublesome when one is doing a listening exercise and writes in “bu yıl Demokrat Parti daha iyi” and is told that this is wrong.

Additionally I also had an issue that for a multiple choice listening exercise for this same course and level that two of the wrong answers were the same, only difference was one was the male voice and the other was the female voice. Not sure if that is just for this course or if it also is a bug in general.

There is a problem with the countries part of this Turkish course. Any country beginning with a Turkish ‘I’ (dot on top) when typed without the keyboard present creates an ‘I’ so that countries that have Turkish ‘I’ (dot on top) are read as wrong. Even using the keyboard underneath, because it only has ‘I’ and not Turkish ‘I’ (dot on top) means that these words are wrong. The only way to create the correct spelling is to cut and paste the word. Surely some mistake. I think you need a capital Turkish I (dot on top) on available characters (lower case i doesn’t work because it is a country)

şerefe : cheers
yarasın means : May it be good for you and your health. ( informal)
