Yes, since it is more commonly pronounced that way in speech, and a toss-up in writing, I agree that keeping it “futbol” in the Lat. Am. Spanish course is perfectly fine.

Weird. On TV they used fútbol and same with my dictionary. #shrugs

On Level 5 - 13. Ït has “tengo que examinarle el pecho.” Why not “Tengo que examinar su pecho.”

Thank you for your question. It is a good question. Spanish works differently than English in that aspect. So because the “le” particle is at the end of “examinar”, that is telling you that he is referring to “you (formal)”, it is not necessary to say “your” chest. Another example: My arm is painful= Me duele EL brazo. I hope it makes sense now.

@Strasse - If there’s a rule, it’s that you don’t use my, your, his, and hers with body parts.

Hi @Strasse,
As @Kaspian has said you would never use the possessive pronouns with body parts, but it is not limited to that case, you also would not use it to say “He lost his wallet”, as you would say “Ha perdido la cartera”. When it is kind of obvious that the object, body part, etc, belongs to the person we are talking about, we don’t use the possessive pronoun. I hope it is clear now, let me know if you need further explanation.

Just switched to Spanish (Mexico) 3 after completing Spain Spanish 1 and 2. Just noticed that Spanish (Mexico) does not have accents as options below where you are typing. I would like the option to practice with them though!
