Same here. It seems that the audio files for alli and ahi are mixed and gets me confused. Where alli it is (for my ears) the longer pronounced i from ahi, the exercises have the both audio played.

Hi. You’d better address this question to Ángela @angileptol, but I can tell you in my own words.
Dimension in Spanish is more complicated than in English and other languages. As you can see, instead of simply “here” and “there” it’s “here”, “there” and “over there”. Moreover, this dimensional structure depends on who speaks: it could be aquí for you, but allí for me. If you open a Spanish textbook you will find a whole chapter dedicated to this subject.

Thanks for your feedback. I have moved your post into the existing Spanish 1-7 by Memrise thread. I have curated the distractors so that it is not so easy to confuse the 3 adverbs. Basically, aquí means just here, then there’s a nuance of meaning between ahí (“there”, the object is closer to the speaker) and allí (“over there”, the object is close to the listener, farther from the speaker than ahí). Does this make sense?
I have checked the audio files and they are all correct, although I can understand how they can sound similar. Ahí would sound “a.ˈi”, whereas allí has a “j” sound, so it’d sound “a.ˈʝi”. Try listening carefully!

I don’t whether this is the right place to open this thread but I encountered a big mistake. I’m taking Spanish 6 course. There is a problem I encountered. The words encender and apagar are taught “to turn off” and “to turn on” respectively, which should be vice versa. I wanted to report it so that the false learnings can be prevented.
Hi! I am a Memrise Pro member and was looking to access the ‘grammarbot’ and ‘chatbot’ for Spanish (Spain) 1 but they are both greyed out on the website, is there a known reason for this or am I missing something I should have done to access them?

If you are learning the new version of courses 1 & 2, recently launched (see here), instead of chatbots & grammarbots, they have a grammar mode (see here). I think it’s still in beta, and for now, only available for app.

I found another issue that is probably a lot worse.
In the course Spansk 3 (Spanish 3 for Norwegians) the phrase “tenemos que ir en taxi” is missing a whole word in the Norwegian translation, see the picture below.
So right now in Norwegian it’s saying “we take a taxi”

Following up on the Ahí / Allí discussion for Castilian Spanish (pardon bumping old thread).
I understand that the ll consonant can be pronounced with the “j” sound mostly in parts of Spain, but in some other parts of Spain (and more so outside it) it has that “y” sound. Some Spaniard expatriates I’ve discussed this with have pointed it out too.
The pronunciation difference is understood to be Ahí as “Ah-EE”, and Allí as “Ah-YEE” (note the Y sound) or “Ah-JEE”, and that fluency means understanding both Allí pronunciations.

There’s a translation error in 2nd part of Spanish under words and Phrases - order of the floor numbers is incorrect.
La Baja Planta - should be the the lower level_.
Baja means lower or below.
La primera planta - is the first floor - the app has primero as second and segundo as third…
La Segundo planta- is second floor and so on…
La tercera planta should be the third floor and not the fourth floor

There is nothing wrong with it. It is the course from American English. So different numbering systems.
In Spain and other countries whose official language is Spanish or Portuguese, the ground floor is usually marked PB ( planta baja , planta baixa , etc.)

My mistake. 
You can switch to the UK/European version of Spanish 2 - this uses the familiar terms for the floors.
