[Course Forum] Sou Matome N3 / N2 / N1 日本語総まとめ漢字!by Tonbo

皆さん、こんにちは。トンボです。よろしくお願いします。最近僕とって、日本語が一番大事な事の一つに成ったから、毎日開いたら、勉強してばかりいますけど、一緒に勉強しましょうか?

I have created a course for all Kanji covered in Sou Matome Kanji books, including the N3, N2, and N1 volumes. Features include:

  1. Focus on Kanji Recognition and Reading:
Kanji prompt Kana Test, English is not tested. I think having 2 cards for 1 vocabulary item is a waste of time.

  2. Organization and Ease of Use:
Lessons follow the structure of Sou Matome books, which is, daily lessons that stretch over 6 weeks (42 lessons) for N3, and 8 (56 lessons) weeks for each of N2 and N1.

  3. Elimination of Redudency:
The books are cross-referenced against themselves and each other, Over 1000 duplicates removed, such as (お)寺, 寺, お寺, I left only お寺. Spreadsheets are available if someone needs them.

  4. Elimination of Confusion:
Kanji with multiple meaning/reading will include a hint in parenthesis, for instance: 角(horn), 角(corner), 角(square) are つの, かど,かく respectively, however items like this are rare.

  5. Coverage:
Learn to recognize the majority of regulary used Kanji, List contains roughly 1850 Kanji in 4512 Vocabulary items, the original books themselves cover 1700 Kanji in 4350 items however… and finally.

Bonus feature: Almost every lesson has a bizarre word or two at the end of it, they must qualify the following criteria:
A. They are regular use Kanji, but the books missed them.
B. They have appeared in Japanese newspaper before.
Both these conditions make the Kanji fair game for native materials to use.
While not particularly useful, the goal of these words is to familiarize you with the Kanji, Example of these words include:
闇 やみ Darkness, very popular word in fantasy anime, reading, etc…
技 わざ Skill, regular vocabulary of almost any video game.
顎 あご Chin, body part.
Etc… And this brings the books coverage from 1700 to 1850 Kanji.
Thank you for reading!

If you find any errors, or have any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.

Edit:
やはり。。。僕はバカですよ、何か忘れちゃったから。コースのURLだった、本当にすみません、どうぞ~

Edit 2: Added “course-forum” Tag, updated progress.
Edit 3: Adding new course to this topic:

New course is available! Shin Megami Tensei - Persona 5

Course is far from complete now, but I am sure listing it here will motivate me to work (or play ) even harder.
Hoping to add chunks of 300 words per week.

Vocabulary list follows non-omission non-repetition style, the first occurrence of every Kanji will be covered, even the easy ones, in order of their in-game appearance.
I will also cover vocabulary from settings menu, tutorials, skills and items description, in addition to story.

Hello,

thank you very much for the course.

I want to prepare the N1 but i’ve alwayas been a litte lacking in vocabulary so I’ll start to do all the N3 and N2 before.

BTW I found what I think is a mistake in day 4 W1 of N3 level : the usual kanji for いく is 行く, in the course is spelled as 逝く is it voluntary for the meaning of departed ?

Hello and welcome to my course, I hope it proves to be beneficial to your studies.

Regarding your question, the Japanese language is known for its numerous “Homophones”, words that are pronounced the same way but have different meaning and Kanji.

逝く is intransitive verb that means to die, or pass away, but can also carry meaning similar to 行く (refers to movement or action conducted), they are both pronounced いく。

Example sentence:
祖父は若くして逝ってしまった。
My grandfather died while he was still young.

thank you, I know the homonims but 逝くis a N1 kanji, why is it introduced in
the N3 preparation book?

Actually, 逝く is not introduced not even in the N1 Sou Matome book, for example, you won’t find it in this course:

However I know for a fact that it used in native materials quite often, please refer to the bonus section of course features in the description.

Hello, still me with a question

I found the word 古本文庫本, as far as I can see its two words on one single card.
Is there a way to split this in two ?

BTW for the verb しぼる you selected the kanji 搾る which is not the first choice in my dictionnary. Is there a special reason for this choice ?
