[Course Forum] "Slow Finnish (Duolingo User-Created Lessons)" by A_User and Zzzzz

@Mari They were set to not show at tests, so they would only show when first learning a word. It should be fixed now so that you can always see them.

I’m slowly progressing through the course and I have more Czech problems (no offence to all Czech people reading this!) In level 12 we have “I am Czech”, suggesting that Czech in this sentence is an adjective, but the translation is “Olen tšekki” with a noun. And by the way - is it fine to say both “Olen tšekki” and “Olen tšekkiläinen” or is one of them somehow prefered (or not used at all)?

I added the indefinite article to the English translation. Thank you!

One more minor thing - in level 15, “Mitä kieliä puhut?”. I was a bit confused, because I once learned “Mitä kieltä puhut?”. I already found in the Slow Finnish lessons that it’s plural. So maybe you could just change “lanuage” in the translation to plural as well? Thank you and please tell be if I’m too strict

We like strict people. Fixed now, thanks!

One more that escaped me earlier. In level 7 - “olet britti” - “you are British”, make it “you are a Brit” please.

Fixed! Thank you.

This time level 12, “Sally is from the United States”. Please add the alternative “Sally on Yhdysvalloista”. I was revising with the elative in my head

OK. Added! I also added Sally on kotoisin Yhdysvalloista just in case.

So, I’m on level 50 and I have a few suggestions for it.

There’s a typo in “We will call the soon”, it should be “them”.

In “You will call me tomorrow” please add that it’s plural you.

Three sentences have the time in the middle (“Soitan tänään vanhalle miehelle”, “Soitamme pian vanhalle miehelle” and “Annan sen tänään mukavalle pojalle”). Now I remember which ones, but I don’t think I will later, so I ask for alts with the time expressions in the end.

OK. I also made alts the other way around, so that you can have time in the middle of every sentence. Thank you!

Level 46 - “Kello on puoli yksitoista” it’s half past ten, I think, not eleven.
Edit: In level 53 “Monelta hän kertoo sen meille?” lacks “it” in translation.
“Monelta annatte sen meillle?” has one too many “l” in “meille”.

Fixed. Thank you.

Today I’m doing lesson 54 and sharing my feedback as usual.
“Do you speak English to them?” that’s plural you.
“Annattte sen heille vartin yli yksi” has too many “t” in “annatte”.
And I would like to have an alt for “Tänään luen sinulle kirjaa”.

Fixed. Sorry for the delay.

First of all, thanks a lot. Now, what’s the difference between the Finnish Duolingo lessons and these? Is it the same?
Kiitos

These are intended as a supplement to the Duolingo lessons. They don’t come with explanations of grammar, those are in the lessons. They basically just drill you on what the Duolingo lessons teach.

Hi again  In lesson 59 both “aukiolle” and “torille” are “square (allative)”. Please change the translation of “torille” to “market square (allative)”. Thank you!
