Hi there,
I couldn’t find any forum section to report bugs and errors for this course, therefore I created this new topic. If such section is already in place, I apologize - please indicate me where it is and I’ll re-post my report there. I find the course very helpful, since it emphasizes grammar topics not handled in the official courses, however I believe some error corrections could improve its quality even further.
Learn German Grammar level 26 - “Er setzt sich auf das Sofa” - the voice says “er setzt sich auf DEM Sofa” - both male and female. The latter is wrong and misleading.
The voice cannot pronounce “ß”. All words with “ß” I’ve encountered so far in the course are mispronounced.
I would recommend to only use the female voice overall, it sounds more natural (less robotic) than the man’s.
I hope that the above could be of help improving the course. If the interest to improve the course is lacking - as the absence of a forum section would suggest - then at least I did my due diligence as a user.
Thank you.
I cannot tell if they are active (currently) or just added lots of courses as a bit of advertising or to aid in their classroom courses … https://www.facebook.com/easyacademyweb/
@EasyAcademy … if they are active in the forums they should be able to respond to the above (your questions/concerns) now that they are linked.
Thank you for your interest. I will explain. For instance, at level 17, in the sentence “Düsseldorf ist so groß wie Stuttgart”, the voice pronounces “gro” instead of “groß”. The “ß” is skipped entirely. It’s not about any special way of pronouncing “ß”, it’s about its sheer absence.
All words containing “ß” in this course have the same issue…
That would be a result of flawed (or missing) German optimization in the text reading program used by the creator.
You are correct, the ß is missed (or not recognized) entirely. This is in both the iOS app & via the Web UI. @EasyAcademy as the creator is the only one that can (easily) get into the course to see what the issue may be.
Search bar for the flora? One would have to know EasyAcademy is some sort of Memrise “super” course creator to consider that… and even the user’s page does not list the link you posted. Without knowledge of Memrise’s community forums, a general user has no “obvious” [verging on none at all, given even “following” another user does not open up messaging options] way to contact a course creator.
