I actually don’t use the audio feature on Memrise, but I hope that the audio for this course helps others.

The word 动力 currently has a primary definition of “power”, which isn’t very specific. Wiktionary says that it means “motive power” or “force; impetus”. I kind of like the idea of replacing the primary definition of “power” with something more specific, like “motive power”, but I’m not sure if most people know what “motive power” means – it’s certainly not the most commonly used word.

Maybe changing the primary definition to “motive power; force” would be good?

Thoughts?

ok, but in the sense of dynamics, the term is standard part of big number of words/compounds… and impetus, hm, I don’t find it technical…

well, after all, many people learn a language to be able to convey “technical” stuff as well:)

For 喂, the current primary definition is “hey; to feed | hello (on the phone)”. When prompted with this, I often just register the “hey” part of the prompt and then type 嗨，which gets marked as incorrect.

I think that, personally, I hear this word used to mean “hello” (on the phone) much more than “hey” or “to feed”. Would you be alright with changing this definition to something like “hello (on the phone) | to feed; hey”, so that the “hello” part is before the other parts?

For 助理，the current primary definition is “assistant”, but for 助手，the current primary definition is “assistant; helper”. I was just given a multiple choice question for 助理 and selected “assistant; helper” instead of “assistant”, which of course marked me as wrong.

Does anyone know if there’s any difference in the usage of these two words, and if it would be okay to change the primary definition of 助理 to match that of 助手?

FWIW I just changed the definition for 助手 to helper; aide; assistant to help provide some visual differentiation.

My cursory research on http://tatoeba.org/ shows example sentences where the 助手，助理 are interchangeable. Pleco only has the definitions listed in the course.

Let me know if you have any preferences or suggestions and I’ll tweak further.

I’ve left the other HSK6 course, and rely on yours now (drew migrated to anki and he’ll not answer queries that fast.) And I have to rush learning, who knows how much time community.created courses still have…
