Hi Neal/nphx. There are two entries for ‘rough’ - τραχύς [level 190, I think] and αδρός [Level 40 or 39]. Also two entries for ‘smooth’ - ομαλός [L.187 or thereabouts] and λείος [L6 or 7]. I think the Memrise jargon for this is ‘cross-alt’d’, if I’m right. Anyway, you enter one of the Greek words but the correct answer is sometimes the other (Greek word). Thanks, Daithi.

Two other [minor] quibbles: in the test-item for η σκάφη, possible answers are ‘‘wash basin’’ and ‘‘wash-basin’’, with the latter being the wrong answer. Why not delete the latter altogether? It’s not really useful in this context - just confusing. Likewise with ‘’ Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες Αμερικής’’ - ‘‘U.S.A.’’ is correct, but confusingly, also included in the options is ‘‘THE U.S.A.’’ Again, including that as an option confuses more than helps.
Unfortunately, we have no control over the answers in multiple choice tests. I suspect they are generated on word creation. You can also read up on “phantom entries”. It’s an age-old issue with Memrise.

Two small changes made today to reflect the more common spellings of a couple of words:
- Level 171, η κιμαδόπιττα, primary changed to η κιμαδόπιτα (but double-tau version kept as an alt)
- Level 171, οι ξεροί καρποί, primary changed to οι ξηροί καρποί (but epsilon version kept as an alt)
Hi again! There’s a double entry for ‘‘temporary’’: προσωρινός, around level 50, and πρόσκαιρος around level 190. The clue just says ‘temporary’ so it’s difficult to say which one is being asked for.

Hi again. Yes, there’s a wrong audio entry in Level 92. The item is ‘’ οι ενήλικοι’’ [adults] but the corresponding audio item is ‘‘ενήλικος’’ [an adult/the adult].

Another double entry: ‘‘club’’ λέσχη Level 3 and σύλλογος Level 143, both meaning ‘club’ as in ‘group of people’ [as opposed to a weapon].
I’m not sure if this is a double entry! It’s for πεζοδρόμιο ‘sidewalk’ {level 115 or thereabouts] and πλακόστρωτο ‘‘pavement’’. I had thought that ‘sidewalk’ and ‘pavement’ are more or less the same thing: the first is American English, the second British English, but with equivalent meanings.
Another double entry: ‘chickpeas’, level 123 τα ρεβίθια, and level 112 or thereabouts τα στραγάλια.
What is the future of this course with the proposed move to Decks?
