I wan’t to have Memrise Pro for one month, so I clicked on this. I have enough money on my google play card, but Memrise write “Not eligible” in red in the thing, which will plopp out if you click to “€7,11/month”. Additionally I can’t take a picture in this message😭. I need help! P.S. I use the Android App and I have a LG.
Hi @MaxiK_7C, the Google Play Card doesn’t work to purchase Memrise Pro, as it only is for one-time purchases and Memrise Pro is a monthly subscription. Memrise Matty explains it better here: Why I can’t buy the pro-version
I discovered the same issue today and I feel really disappointed (not to say cheated). This information should be written on the main page in capital letters, so that people could learn about it BEFORE someone decides to buy Google Play giftcards and buy a yearly Memrise subscription.
I bought two Google Play Cards for my parents for Christmas, so they could start learning English. Now Memrise informs me the cards are not accepted as a payment method and I feel I just threw my money away (and it is quite a lot of money in my country). I don’t want to use the cards to buy some junk apps in Google store, since I really don’t need them.
What I regret is, I bought my own subscription. I will never make this mistake again.
‘Thank you’ Memrise for so much trouble. I’ll stay with Duolingo or Mondly.
