Wish I could tell you. From what I gather itās only for people learning English at the moment. No clue how itās set up.
Personally, Iām creating my own immersion courses using dramas and a program that creates individual cards with audio based off the subtitle timing. It tests having the person select the correct subtitle based on the audio prompt.

That sounds like fun.
Immersion mode - it is video clips with real people saying frases, and then you have to type it or choose the right answer from the list (both languages), or rearrange words to match the clip.
I like it, because of the people they have chosen (different age, sex and colour -allmost everybody smiling)

I use English to learn Spanish and French and both are supported with immersion. Even maybe turkishā¦have not learned enough Turkish word to confirm it

Ok, thatās cool then. Good to know it covers a lot more languages. Nothing for Japanese at the moment though.
Thereās a program called āsubs2srsā which uses subtitle files (each sentence has a start and stop time to tell the video player when to display the sentence) to create audio clips based on subtitle timings so you get both the text and audio. I also run the subtitle file through a Japanese Text Analysis Tool to pick out vocabulary words that are not in the Basic Japanese courses I set up. With a bit of work, I have a workable course that tests native audio to native text and some vocabulary tests which is English prompt to native vocabulary word.
Great for helping to build listening comprehension cause afterwards one can watch that drama with either native or no subtitles and follow along quite well. It also is good since youāre encouraged to mimic/say out loud the audio clips to help create native sounding speaking.
Hereās one course I made. Wonāt do you much good if you havenāt got some basic Japanese under your belt though.

I refer you to the Membus post concerning the languages that are concerned by the immersion mode. They are in Germany or still in Italy at the moment. There is a blog too.

I guess if the Pro features were really worth paying for they would offer a trial period to get people interested.

I have tried the iOS app version of a Memrise Spanish course a few times (I use the web version most of the time) and find it a good addition to the range of listening skills tests. As for whether itās worth the cost of paying for pro, thatās a matter for individuals to decide, taking account of the other tools that pro gives you and when/whether immersion mode becomes available for languages other than English, French and Spanish.

Japanese is coming according to a staff comment.
We will be adding videos eventually to all languages, the Membus ones first (Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, German, Danish, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian) and then Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Russian before the end of the year.
Though I wouldnāt plan on the basis of that date. Plans change. For example: Dutch is no longer mentioned (I think because they canāt get the bus through Germany).
