Big Flaw on answers in multiple choices

I am hoping this get answered by memrise team. but if you know the answer to this problem I hope you can help me.
This is one of the major flaws and reduce the efficiency of the learning a lot for me.

So what is the problem: the answers especially on the big sentences used to be in typing. Now I get them all in multiple choice (8 choices sometimes), this is not good at all and there is no customisation in the setting to change it to what you want.

There is a scenario which I am not sure that is the case, but I mention it here just in case this is related to the problem: last week my membership expired and then I received the answers in multiple choices, I thought this is one of the pro features that I lost because of my membership. after I renew the membership i expected to have things as they were before.
sadly still I receive the questions in multiple choices which is not a right tool especially for main big sentences. Can someone from the Memrise team address this issue?

You are not alone in your misery … and it has nothing to do with your status (pro versus free version).

@ahfarhang - If you’re using the web version, you can use a userscript to force typing. Here’s a link to the thread discussing it:

Are you using the app of the website? I thought this change had been reversed on the website.

@ahfarhang if multiple choice tests were disabled…all picture courses would be useless. Memrise is not only for languages

Atikker,
It is very simple to define whether the course is language base or not (and actually there is a point that you define the subject and category of the course). so it is not a rocket science for memrise team. and this was alright up to last three days. all of the sudden memrise team decided to mess with the very main point of their program (learning!) and disappoint a big range of their customers.

I don’t think this typing disappearence was intentional. (btw Learning geography, arts and music is still learning)

I meant language learning … you like finding typos

anyway it seems memrise is not listening and this is the 2nd time they do this. intentionally or not,

they are finding me :stuck_out_tongue:

I think they are just too busy at a moment trying to find out what caused all this

Hi Memrise team,

If you removed long typing questions intentionally, please put them back. Or at least add a setting to enable them. Memrise without long typing questions is too easy. I feel my learning process is completely ruined as I cannot practice forming sentences with all the words.

I’ve analyzed the code changes, and I can say that they changed this deliberately again.

They are now checking to see if the course has a certain attribute, whose meaning I have not yet decoded. If the course does have that attribute, then typing tests are always disabled for all answers longer than 15 characters, regardless of whether the course creator disabled typing tests or not. Of course, typing tests remain disabled as before, if the course creator disabled them manually.

This was definitely not an accident or bug.
