Archive of over 70,000 mems [former "A way to save all your mems"]

Hi. I manually downloaded the few mems I made myself.

But is there a way to bulk download all the mems that other people created and which I had chosen to use for the Common Simplified Chinese Radicals course?

User: AdamLanea20fc6ee60

For that you might want to use this method: How to use Memrise2Anki

I can only download mems from users explicitly specified by their names.

Thanks. It didn’t work, though. After downloading and trying to run the addon in Anki, it asks you to login using your memrise info. But at that point I got the same error message that I can see lots of others also got.

The login error should be solved by making sure you are using this particular version of the addon:

(as opposed to this GitHub - wilddom/memrise2anki-extension: An extension for Anki 2 that downloads and converts a course from Memrise into an Anki deck., this GitHub - pschlette/memrise2anki-extension: An extension for Anki 2 that downloads and converts a course from Memrise into an Anki deck., or any other older versions)

There are also reports, that reinstalling Anki may at least temporarily solve the problem as well. So if you have only one course to download, this might be sufficient.

Also, a personal recommendation: after a course is downloaded and you are asked to assign memrise fields to the front and back of the cards do not use the “Basic card” template, as the memrise post suggests. Just let the addon create a new note type, and it will automatically assign all the fields and create cards for you:

This way the downloaded information is kept in the most complete form and is preserved in a much more orderly fashion for future edits of the cards.

Thank you very much. It worked.

And I wish I had read your entire post before I downloaded and tried to configure the “front/back” thing myself. As it didn’t work so well.

So after I noticed your personal recommendation, I re-downloaded the course, and just let the add-on configure things itself, and it looks like it worked perfectly now.

Thanks again for the Christmas present. And Happy New Year to you.

Hi there,

may I very humbly ask if you could save my mems too? I’m way too much of a computer noob to manage myself I’m afraid… My user name is “neko-chan” (this one: Memrise - neko-chan)

I would be very grateful!

Thank you very much :smiley_cat:

Hi again Eltaurus, could you please add mems from user Tonbo to the drive (I would link if I knew how to search for accounts…)
Thank you!!

You can simply type a user name into the address string :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve added Tonbo’s mems to the folder.

Oops! I bookmarked this thread a few weeks ago thinking it would have instructions or something I could run, and just realized the deadline is here and I’d better look and figure out how to do it. But now I see this is actually about requesting that you run something for me, which means I’m probably too late :frowning:

If by any luck you are actually here and see this in time and happen to have time to save my mems, Memrise user cos, I’d be very grateful.

It’s alright.
Your mems are already in the common folder since @johnastsang have asked to save them for you.

But I also started downloading them again, in case you have changed anything since then, so if needed I will be able to upload the updated version.

And in any case, as far as I understand, the changes in beta do not affect the user pages, they only remove mems from the study sessions. So my method of downloading should continue to work in the near future.

Oh, thanks, and thanks for the clarification!

Now I should see how Memrise2Anki handles Mems too…

Hi can you download the “HP Ultimate - 8500 ORD” by the user " Revlic"?
I also wonder if it is possible to download multiple mems for the same word?
Thanks / Adrian

Hi @Eltaurus,
Would you be able to download the mems from the user ‘JathonThompson’? His mems from the Kodansha Kanji Learner’s Course were very valuable to me.
Thanks / Bruce

I cannot download mems for a specific course, since Memrise does not provide such information. I can only download mems, which Revlic made himself, but I cannot check which of them (if any) were created for that specific course.
If you know the names of the users who created the mems you need, you can request those.
Alternatively you can download the mems you personally selected when studying that course using this method: How to use Memrise2Anki

My script does download multiple mems if several were created for the same word. But again, it only works on ‘per user’, not ‘per course’ basis.
The memrise2anki mod downloads mems for a specific course, but not more than 1 per word.

Hi, I’ve added JathonThompson’s mems to the common folder.
