[App Feedback] My thoughts on the New App Layout

Hello all,

is it somehow possible to make the Android app apply a course list filter like on the website:

  • “With goal set”
  • “Recently learned”
  • by language “Portuguese (Brazil)”?

It looks like the Android app listing mixes several courses from several languages in one single course list?
I just added some courses, which I have not started learning (e.g Spanish), so I can find them laters.

The same applies to PT Brasil where several are just added, but not “really started”.

This is no problem on the website as I can select goals and the “With goal set” filter also includes 6 already finished PT courses.

I am just testing the Android app on Bluestacks but have plans to get Smartphone soon.

I also like the Android app speed review. The timer works there IMHO much better than on the website (timer bar on the website can not go completely up but stops in the middle - with the line of the displayed words).

Too bad I can not clearly see the daily XP gained on the Android app, to check for when I have meet my “website 6000XP course goal”.

I agree. I miss the garden theme. From what I’ve read on the other forums, it looks like Memrise doesn’t care about what we think, but I thought I’d add my two cents anyway. It seems the app and website are progressively getting worse, and more soulless. Functional minimalism would be so much better than this Khan Academy wannabe.

This layout indeed corresponds to ‘Star Trek’ UI design. Looks pretty and interesting but has very little value if not really just a distraction.

It would be better if the course screen showed progress with clear definitions. Even numbers would be better.
