Hi @lien. I’m having the same issue, have tried the suggestion above to log out and back in but no effect. I’m running the latest version (v2.9_3879_memrise), and when trying to download a course I get an advert to go pro. I’ve had my account since July 2015 but since updating I can no longer download courses. Could you take a look at this for me please? Thanks

I am also having the same issue as well. Like others, since the last update I can’t download any courses, even though I have been a memrise user for a few years. The version I have is- 2.9_3719679_ beta release, and when I try to download a course I get the advert telling me to upgrade to pro. The suggestion of logging out then back in again didn’t work for me.

Just to confirm, a new version installed this morning for me (2.9_3880_memrise) and the issue is still present for me

Hi, I’ve been learning A1 French since approx Aug '15 using the Memrise android app (singed in and activated account on laptop today though) and now also can’t download the course since the Android vs 6.0.1 upgrade and performing a factory reset thereafter - when I try downloading the course, I keep getting a box saying ‘upgrade to annual / get 2 months free’. Will I be able to download the free version again, considering I started the course in approx Aug 2015 (in that time, I’ve had a 220 day streak but hadn’t realised I had to go online to retain the streak, so, not going online for one day, I lost the streak, but from that next day have now accrued a 180 day streak, equalling 400 days)?

PS Would it be possible to adjust my streak count to reflect the approx 400 days, as it’s a shame to lose the total for the sake of missing one day. Thanks

I can confirm that after updating via Google Play today, this feature is now working again without Pro.

Thank you for fixing this. I really do prefer this app to AnkiDroid and I’m glad that I don’t have to switch.

After reinstalling the app, I can download the courses. Its working again like a charm. thank you @Joshua.

actually I don’t remember the exact date that I signed in to memrise, but I am very sure that I could download courses untill last month
this month I tried to download A2 German course but I couldn’t

It used to give me the “you are not a premium user” pop-up , but I tried it again now and it worked !!

Hi there I can’t download the offline courses and I have reinstalled the app on both my phone and tablet. I am a long time user so not sure what to do next

Hi there just curious if u can help me with the above problem. I have an old version on my phone that works offline again now but I don’t want to update and have the problem like on my tablet where I am told I need to be a pro member. I have been a member for years so I am not sure why mine isn’t working.

It’s OK for a company to have their people work hard at something, create something valuable out of time and effort, and somehow it’s unfair to have a charge?

If you have red the forum you know that for long time users download must be free,ok?
So i think in my case it is not fair that I can not use it free when I have Memocrat badge.
And yes, I think it is unfair that in the middle of way you change your policy. If download was not free from the beginning then there is no complain now.

thanks for your speedy reply, i have been out of the country so has taken me some time to respond. I run both android on my tablet and phone. The problem as i can see it is memrise have made offline a pro feature now unless you have been a member for some time. Thats what i gathered from reading this thread on the forum. Some people have been in touch with you and their accounts fixed if they were a long term member or told sorry but you only just joined(which is fair enough). Maybe my account needs something changing to let me access it for free.

The email address you gave me is who i was in touch with before you and they replied once but not to the actual problem and then didnt respond.

If you could help me just to get access to the offline mode again or point me in another direction it would be greatly appreciated.

I really do appreciate your time
