I am making an English course for Serbian speakers (https://www.memrise.com/course/1270492/engleski-za-pocetnike/), and I’ve made it a personal rule to keep the number of words in each level divisible by 5. It’s nice and round, and the learning goes in groups of 5 or 10 words, so it’s practical. After my most recent addition of words, although every level individually has a number of words divisible by 5 (e.g. 35, 40, 50…), the total number of words in my course is shown as… 1454?
And just to mix things up, the app shows the total number as 1410 - round, but obviously different. (And the last level has synced, I’ve checked.)
I’m not learning the course myself, so it’s not an issue of ignored words. Does anyone have any idea what’s going on? It’s not that it’s affecting the functionality of the course, but it’s bugging me.
In general it takes Memrise some time to correctly count the words you’ve inputted. Give it some time, it will probably correct itself in not too long; Do report it if the problem still exists after ~1 day, cause then something is wrong with Memrise, and it should be fixed.
And when I added 5 more words to the course, the total word count now shows a correct 1460. Who knows what happened… but, hey, never mind, it works now.
i have a similar problem, two couses with the exact same content made from the same spreadsheet and showing a different number of words, how exactly memrise count words ?
My spreadsheet have 1756 entries (lines), after upload to memrise, the first course shows 1754 and the second 1750. How can it make sense at all ?
