It’s a great resource for beginners, but they don’t focus too much on adding new high level articles, even though the lower level articles use a lot of advanced words.
Here’s a resource I wish I had before I starting studying HSK vocabulary. It is a list of similar words that occur in the Memrise user amargatarde’s set of “HSK Complete Traditional Characters.” For example, if Memrise gives you an English clue that says “immediately”, then you may wonder, “Well that could be about ten different words.” This is designed to solve that problem. Search for the word in this Excel document that I made. It probably doesn’t have every possible word you may confuse, but it has over 2000 rows, should resolve most of your ambiguities.
Entertaining, fun and easy to follow. This series has one hundred episodes, each fifteen minutes in length. The series´ aim is to use dramatic skits to teach three hundred of the most commonly spoken Chinese phrases to teenagers. It is hosted by Charlotte MacInnis, a television host who is known to Chinese audiences as Ai Hua.
Great topic and thanks for sharing, must be a pain to keep up-to-date though. I was surprised I couldn’t find https://chinese.yabla.com/chinese-english-pinyin-dictionary.php among the links (unless I overlooked it somehow). It’s my personal favourite reference tool as it results both simplified as traditional Chinese and gives you a lot of freedom in your searches (characters, pinyin, romanised as well as english).
I found this link on my computer today. I used this program (along with a few others) years ago when I was in the US and just beginning to make forays into learning how to read/write characters. There are short lessons in both Traditional and Simplified characters. It’s not graphically pretty, but it might be of interest to new learners.
