Whoops message lives on

Whoops: Could not load the session. Sorry.

I’m still getting this after a seemingly random amount of time when reviewing from the top level i.e. across courses (Home / Review Spanish Spain). The only way to progress is to review by Group, but this is terribly slow:besides having to return to the Group List between each session, the Group button response time is apalling slow.

try reviewing courses one by one; let the dashboard window open, and open in a new window the respective course review. When finished just close the individual course window.

Brilliant, thanks Hydroptere.

So OK, I have a working solution, but this error has been around for too long now and it’s about time it was sorted.

This works, I’ve been doing it in Italian (haven’t tried Spanish yet), but is frustrating and slow with several dozen courses. If Memrise would go back to the old way of showing courses that have items to be reviewed showing first, rather than in alphabetical order, it would be much easier.

you don’t have to keep everything on your dashboard: try saving the links to the courses you want to take in a special folder in your browser. I do this (I save also completed courses which I quit when done and I would want to review later) so as not to have more than 100 courses on my dashboard.

Making groups is probably the easiest, no?

no, I don’t make groups, this means supplementary clicks… I liked the old “pin” feature, but there are 2, 3 years now since “they” took it away

My take: we can find as many ‘work arounds’ as you like but this is just provides an ‘excuse’ for the Memrise team to not resolve/explain the problem. We are not talking about a subtle use case scenario here; this is a strategic option from the Memrise dashboard.
Memrise team: as a paying member of this group (and an ex IT professional), I’m disappointed.

Sure, it’s possible to do that, but to me it’s really cumbersome to review each course one at a time. Also, even if 50 courses are open at the same time in the browser, not every one of them is going to have words to review, which is something I can see at a glance at the dashboard (or if not at a glance, at a “scroll, scroll, scroll”). I just wish this would get fixed because it is happening with the one language where I have the most courses, and just when I had a little extra time to try to get caught up. Grrrrrrr…

you’re probably right, but my interest is to use memrise as long as it remains a bit usable (i.e. as long as I can learn in the web version+my userscript; I never use the app). With the years on memrise, I’ve learned to care less about what the team is doing, although I find the changes so darn intrusive. I’ve learned to use memrise the best I can (script, workarounds, etc). I’ll not consume my nerves, time and energy, with some very young dev’s idea about my own learning  … what can I say, thanks, young devs, sometimes you make me reach a zen state of mind  ooooooooummmm (ॐॐॐ ) inner peace inner peace lol
