I’ve got this Rock and Pop Quiz book that I’m thinking of uploading all the trivia to a course.
However, I’ve started looking through the questions and I stumbled across a section of questions called “Those Who Died Young” and with these questions it states how certain musicians died ie; Kurt Cobain, Michael Hutchence etc…
The weird thing is that I got this book from a kids section in a shop…
But I thought I better check here if that type of stuff is just classified as historical and ok to be included in a memrise course or not ok???
Whatever you decide: DON’T upload the stuff directly into memrise, keep it in an excel file or something similar before uploading. You might regret it otherwise - the way this site is going at the moment I personally would not put too much effort in creating courses.
Regarding your original question: I don’t see any real difference between the violent or drug related deaths of musicians or - e.g. material on wars. Both are gruesome and horrible and if you are allowed to teach history why not this kind of younger history as well …
Edit: you can always decide to keep the course private if you are in doubt what to share with the world.
@Foorgol Ahh, yeah, I actually just found out that my niece has been learning about the deaths of kings and queens and how they died and all the different types of torture, at school, madness.
So this course I want to make will be really tame in comparison.
@alanh I’m pretty sure it doesn’t break copyright as it is all general knowledge rock and pop stuff… I’m not too sure now, hmm.
