Is this an olive or a piece of s… or what? It is supposed to symbolize a word, I guess but still, I don’t get it.
I also would like to know why the hand has four fingers and which one is missing.
I am not enjoying a cut hand, having four fingers, holding an unknown black object with two of them.

A part from that, It is a good discussion. Old users are familiar with the concept of seeding words and watering them because they are well acknowledged with the former garden theme. New users have no clue that such theme used to exist.
From the perspective of a new user it is really odd see a hand with four fingers, pointing to a ball, and out of purple see the concept of watering words – after being told that the app is all about yellow, connect with the world, with native speaker etc.
The app still with a disjointed identity, in my opinion.
Thx very much for the reply. I am not a new user but I am confused because of the disjointed identity, and this is why I couldn’t get the idea behind the figure. In addition, when I look at the figure under the light of the explanations, I still do not see seeding fingers. I see fingers ready to pick up something (most probably an olive). This is not only because of the lost concept but also because of the figure itself.

They are mixing old and new paradigms without any explanation, indeed. For newcomers the icons are confusing.
