What is the review cycle of a word when you get an 'almost correct' yellow?

Does anyone know how the review cycle updates when you get enter an almost correct response (yellow)?

Does the cycle reset partway? Does it hold it’s current state and push out properly assuming you answer correctly the next time you see it in the review session?

In short, a ‘yellow’ incorrect answer leads to a further review after 4 hours and then you return to where you were at in the sequence.
