What is the difference between 'Learn new words' and 'Learn with Locals'?

Hello,
I have started learning French on Memrise and I understand that the ‘Learn new words’ feature includes videos of locals speaking a phrase. So what is the difference between this and the other premium feature - ‘Learn with Locals’ ?

The ‘Learn with Locals’ feature consists entirely of videos of locals whereas the learn new words feature has them nicely peppered in :salt:

Best of luck learning / Bonne chance apprentissage

Would you say the ‘Learn with Locals’ feature is worth paying for ?

Personally probably not just for that feature, I personally however find the downloading courses feature quite handy as I do alot of long train rides with no reception and I got the pro half off so if something like that might interest you I’d recommend based on that.

I would say so - this is one of the features I like the most, even though there aren’t all too many native videos.
As I’ve always used the paid version of Memrise I’m uncertain as to what you get in the free version - I suppose you get the phrases but only with the (regular) speakers? I think the “difficult words” are a pro-feature as well, right (that’s also very handy)?

Hello, a bit off topic - on some days I find the the daily goal already complete without me doing anything. Have you guys come across this issue ?

Nope, I never saw this. I do like 90% on the (Android) app though, maybe you’re talking about the web? As for the streak in general, this is pretty buggy, too - sometimes you get the “you’ve reached your daily goal” prematurely, 50%+ you never get any message (again, this is about the Android app). I thus make sure I get some 1600 XP in my ongoing courses (I’ve got all courses set to 5min resp. 5words per day).

I use a mix of both the web and app. Right now on the web it’s showing that my “daily goal” is reached for today, but in the app it says otherwise. Anyways, I guess it’s not a big deal since its not affecting the progress of lessons in any way.

Ah, then what you’re experiencing might be a bug that has been discussed quite a few times here.
Here’s a thread that should explain things (you can also perform a search for streak error for more info):

Thanks Olaf. I checked that thread. But there doesn’t seem to be a solution to that. I think I am just gonna stick to the app from now on.
