What ever happened to the "new mempal" e-mails?

Greetings all. Is it my imagination, or have these e-mails ceased ? I used to receive them whenever people followed me, and whenever I did, I would always check out the profile of the user and see what type of interests they have. (I love the diversity of the users of Memrise !)

Anyway, I haven’t seen any such e-mails in a while, though I have noticed an uptick in the people following me (and why someone would want to follow me, is beyond me, but that’s another issue). I just wonder if these e-mails ceased, or are others still receiving them. Thanks.

I haven’t seen any of these for a while either. Looking at my emails, the last one seems to be from April 9th.

I suspected that they might have just discontinued them, but the option for them remains present and checked in my settings screen.

Haven’t had one of those for what must be many months.

My last one was April 13th I now see. Unannounced and works against the gamification of the learning experience. This has to be a bug so I’ll move this to Web Bugs.

@Arete_Hime ~ thanks !

Is this really a “web” bug? We should probably have a new bug category for memrise bugs that affect users regardless of which UI they’re using. I know memrise likes to pretend that there’s no such thing as a “core” memrise that all users care about and isn’t specific to a type of device, but the lack of a category for that is causing bugs to be miscategorized in ways that might make them get missed.

“Common Bugs”?

Bump.

Following people on your personal leaderboard is one good way Memrise has implemented gamification. To keep the feature popular Memrise should keep sending you a notification every time someone follows you.

Is there a reason it was discontinued @lien? And will it be reintroduced?
