OK I just get thoroughly confused by this. One translates to Is Hungry and the second one to just Hungry. Can someone put these into an English sentence so I can see the difference?
Both are literally the same word, however 배고프다 is the base form, and 배고파요 is how you would use it when speaking/writing…
배고프다 is mostly used as 다 form; when you are speaking only to yourself which is why many video titles can use this.
However when speaking to friends/family whoever to express you are hungry you would use 배고파요 as it’s more natural I guess?
So both mean hungry, its only the ending that has changed. eg. 배고프네요, 배고픈 것 같다, 배고픈나 봐요 …etc etc, all mean ‘hungry’ but using different expressions, emotions and context to add deeper meaning.

As said 배고프다 is the base form, but it is also the litterary form. 배고파요 is just the polite version of 배고파 (informal).

Both can really mean “I’m hungry” though. The only difference is the form. The meaning is the same.
