Unable to use the downloaded courses offline

Good afternoon,
I am not able to use the APP offline althought I am a suscriber user. I downloaded the level 4 course (English) but when I am in the tube using the APP and the Internet connection is offline, the app display an error message and it is imposible to use it.
What is the problem?

I see nobody replied to you so far. I wonder if your course really downloaded to your device. I have had download problems, but once downloaded I never had a problem that it behaved as not-downloaded.

I am using Android: see the two pictures of the top of the screenshot. The first: ‘Test Course Mollie’ is not downloaded and shows in down-arrow. The second one is downloaded and shows a check mark.

What icon does yours show? And on which platform are you?

PS: It looks more like a bug and it might get more attention if posted in either the bugs section or Memrise How To’s.

Yes I see the same icon as you but not always have seen the problem when I am disconnected. I used to be connected when I was using the APP but now sometimes I am using it in different places without Internet.

the same icon: which of two? The Checkmark icon or the Arrow icon?

  • If you have the Arrow icon and you cannot study without internet (e.g. in the subway), then the reason is simply because the course is not downloaded. This would be by design if you indeed didn’t download it.
    However, if you are certain that you had downloaded the course when you had a internet connection (e.g. at home), I assume that it didn’t download properly or you left the internet-zone before it completely downloaded. Check before you leave that you have the Checkmark icon

  • if you have the Checkmark icon and you cannot study without internet, than it is somehow a bug - it is displaying incorrectly, or it is downloaded but the App doesn’t behave accordingly.

Which of the two cases is your case?

In any case, if it is indeed a bug, it will be helpful to tell on what course you are having the issue, if it happens always or sometimes, whether it always wrong or when it started, and of course you platform (iOS or Android) with version (of App and OS).

I have the checkmark icon in green color, and I have downloaded completely the course, but if I put my phone in “flight” mode and I try to learn in the course in the section “learn with natives” (aprende con nativos) I receive an alert text in the top of the screen with “Memrise - There is no Internet connection”. Also if I try using the conversation icon, so seems like only some features are available in offline mode
Is this right or wrong?
