I have a Memrise Pro Subscription with the app installed on 2 devices:
Huawei MediaPad M3 (BTV-W09)
Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935F)
Both devices are running Android 7.0 and currently Memrise version 2.94_3793.
I’ve been using Memrise since October 2017 and in the last 3 months have never been able to download the courses I’m taking for offline use despite multiple tries and troubleshooting.
I’ve uninstalled the app, cleared the cache, tried different Wi-Fi and data connections etc. but always the exact same issue.
When attempting to download any course the same failure occurs everytime.
The download will kick off with the notification showing “Gathering information…”.
The download will then begin showing “In progress” and the status bar will start to fill so it is obviously downloading the course.
As soon as the download gets to 100% I am given an error “Download problem: Please check your network connection and try again”.
The 3 courses I’ve tried to download are:
Japanese 1
Genki 1
Remembering the Kanji, Volume 1
These courses vary in size at 235, 661 and 2194 words respectively.
As a further test in troubleshooting I tried to download “Positive Thinking” and “Solve the Rubik’s Cube!” which are 39 and 50 words respectively. Interestingly, these download to my S7 Edge but not to my MediaPad.
There are obviously a few posts on this forum with the same issue, so is there anything being looked into to resolve this issue? It’s quite annoying not being able to download courses to use offline when Wi-Fi is not available.
It appears that the course does download but then something is not working at the end of the process to save the course to the device or register it as being downloaded. Any kind of feedback on this would be appreciated.
Thanks
