I see this bug again. It appeared after ignoring several words, which were learned, but then came around in other courses. The difference is two words for the moment.

The wordcount doesnt match beteen android app and website.
Itās not about courses, but overall numbers in app and web. They are different.
Hei, my main language is Norweigan. Its has 7 official courses and many unofficial. I am not sure how i can idnetify a course which is not sycning the total properly since its a total/sum and no individual data is represented anywhere to check. Maybe you can ask this question in a nother way? Or maybe i answered to your satisfaction.
I also have been having this problem since I started using Memrise, and the number discrepancy seems to be increasing bit by bit, the first time I noticed it the difference was just 2 words, now itās almost 500.
I think it may have something to do with resetting courses (at least in my case). Sometimes when i give up using a course I havenāt completed yet, I decide to click on ārestartā to erase my progress on that course, and this deletes all learned words from it. I think the deletion of some words may sometimes not synchronize properly with the Android version and cause this bug.
This may explain why the word count is always bigger on the Android (since you can only restart courses in the web version, the web should always have the correct number). This may also be somehow connected with @Hombre_sin_nombre statement about ignored words also causing this issue.
Iāve reported elsewhere that I have completed levels (months ago) on the web but when I go to the App there are unlearned levels (usually at the end) or levels with a few items still to learn.
Logging out sometime synchronises but not always.
Itās unrelated. Are those words in the officials courses? Memrise admins removed auto-ignore feature from the officials courses some time ago, thatās why a few words are reappearing.
