The correct answer shows up twice but I can only choose one of them

This happens frequently in this course, why? How to handle it?

@Casper_duo:

This is NOT a web bug, in my opinion, it has something to do with a badly thought-out German course. This query should be in the forum for German and in the course forum for the course.

The entire course consists of Der, Das, and Die.

Memrise treats the “Die” that goes with “Weibliche Personen” as an entry distinct from “Die” that goes with “-heit.” So, when it chooses multiple choice, it’s possible to get 2-4 options that look the same, but are tied to different clues. There is no way to know which “Die” is the correct one.

If you could modify cooljingle’s All-Typing script to force typing during a learning session, you could probably complete this course. Otherwise, I doubt it’s worth the headache.

Lesson 11 of Deutsch für Euch covers the same material, but presents the clues and answers differently. You type “die …heit” and “das …um,” and the English clues are “the …heit” and “the …um,” for example.

Good to know that there are alternatives to this course! If you want to get your articles right in German, this is really useful information. Shame it is so badly packaged in the course that Casper duo is doing.

Thanks for the explanation. So basically it is a bug.
The system should know better than to put 2 identical answers in the same question.
They can easily check this in advance and eliminate such scenarios.
Though I don’t know what will be the fourth option here as there are only 3 options in this case.
Perhaps one option can be eliminated? To allow to choose only 1 out of 3.
That would be the most logical way to do it.

So I understand this is not possible to fix in the current configuration, so I will check the Deutsch fĂĽr Euch course as you suggested.
I can type der, die, das but I prefer to click.

I hope this will get fix! This is a very important issue.
I would very much like to do courses that test me on the gender of nouns.
@Lien

Thanks.

I’m going to have to look up that All Typing script. However, I’m getting upset at Memrise for forcing me to tell the students of the courses I make that they need to download hacked scripts for something Memrise should allow course creators (or even students) to set-up as default.

Before the scripts, I didn’t like to use the web version. It wasn’t really good.
The scripts give it a distinctive edge.
