The app keeps suggesting, sometimes several times in a row, to do the chat feature (the one about baking).
However, it is far beyond my current level. It asks me to write answers in katakana and cooking vocabulary I do not have.
When I get it wrong, it even suggests me to go back to level 7 in Japanese 1 and level 9 in Japanese 2 while I am currently at level 3 in Japanese 1, i.e. the very basics in hiragana.
Now it would not be annoying if I could turn it off, but literally every lesson the app suggests is this chat feature which I have to manually cancel to get back to the traditional “learn new words” or “reviews” to progress.
Anyone else found a way around this issue?
I would also be interested in this as I have attempted the baking section several times and cannot proceed. I have looked up the terms in a dictionary and am still getting them wrong but it does not reveal the answer that is requested so it feels like a lot of trial and error.
I’m having a similar problem. I’m at the very beginning of the Japanese 1 memrise course and the grammarbot assumes I already know a bunch of kanji…
i’ve tried now (I am taking the kanji version Japanese 2), and it “spoke” Romaji and asked me about a statue of a dog??? as choice offered me very tiny "emoji"s??? have no idea how that should improve my japanese…
I ran into the same issue, and was very confused if I am supposed to know all this katakana and kanji already. Only while going through the baking one and it pointed out that I should have studied level 7 in J1 and Level 9 in J2 did I realize this must be a bug. Memrise please look into this.
