If strict typing is turned off, both of the following should allow you to enter either version:
nervioso (nerviosa)
nervioso; nerviosa
Your option 3 will require you to type “nervioso, nerviosa” and will not accept “nerviosa, nervioso.” Options 4 and 5 will accept the letter A and nervioso.
If you have strict typing turned on, I think you’ll want to have nervioso alone as the entry, and then enter nerviosa as an alternate. Hover over nervioso, look for the little pencil icon labeled “Alts,” click it, add nerviosa, and click save. Don’t enter _nerviosa. I believe that when strict typing is turned on, the underscore is also expected.
Note that with strict typing turned off, you can also add nerviosa (or _nerviosa) as an accepted alternative to nervioso. (The underscore makes it hidden; no underscore means that the alternate shows when you’re first presented with the word, while previewing, or after getting it wrong.)
Thanks for the detailed reply. Your time is appreciated.
I have strict typing ON, because I need to learn the accents in Spanish.
I understand the ability to add “alts” through the memrise interface, but I use Google Sheets and then bulk import into memrise.
e.g. if I am walking around Spain and find a new word, I add it to my google doc. Because the memrise android app doesn’t let me edit the course, right?
Then later, I import all the new words I learnt that day. I really don’t want to duplicating all my work by logging into Memrise on a desktop, hence also increasing the frequency of my errors…
Is there any way whatsoever to add the alts with bulk import? Surely there is, but I searched the whole forum!
