Suggestions for "Te Reo Māori - 1 (Audio)"

Kia ora,

I am finding this course really useful and I’d like to help make it even better.

The things that could be improved are:

  • the phrase “he kiwkiwi te paetara” is missing an i in kiwikiwi
  • iwi and hapū both appear in both level 2 and level 3. There is a work around for this problem “ignore” them at one level or the other so that you don’t need to choose between two correct answers
  • it would be much easier, especially in speed review if māmā and pāpā had mum and dad as the first definitions in the wording.

Ngā mihi,

Ruth.

Another thing to fix - in level 12 and 13 tēnā, ēnā, tērā and ērā are missing the macron on the “a”.

Kia ora Ruth,

I’ve fixed those errors. Thank you very much for pointing them out. I will now be following this thread so if anyone sees any others please point them out.

Kia ora SebOrdonez,

First of all, thanks for creating this course, I found it very helpful. Just wanted to share a couple things I noticed:

  • In Chapter 8, the English translation of “tauira” is “students”, but I believe it should just be “student” (singular).
  • In Chapter 14, the English translation of “he kaiako ērā tāngata” is “those are people are teachers”, but I believe it should be “those people are teachers.”
  • In Chapter 14, I believe “ko te wananga tēnei” should have a macron so that it is “ko te wānanga tēnei.”

But I’m not an expert at all, I may be wrong.

Let me know what you think.

Hello, many thanks for these corrections. Good spotting! I’ve accepted them all.
