My family and I are really enjoying our use of Memrise - however, the ‘group’ feature does not quite match our use.
The current group mode seems to be set up with a ‘classroom teacher’ metaphor … the teacher sets up the group and can monitor the stats from members. But the members can’t see stats for the teacher. Also, the stats are displayed on a ‘course by course’ basis.
In our case, we are a family - and we all want to watch the progress of each other, including the progress of the person setting up the group. Also - we are working on different courses - so comparing on a course-by-course basis is less useful.
We would like to see simple stats for our whole family - listing our names, how many hours learning and how many points gained - by course, but also totaled across all courses.
As a suggestion - it might be fun to be able to set up ‘races’ within a group to get to a total score, or number of hours study etc. It would be a nice visual metaphor to see runners (or snails ) visually progressing towards a target finish line. Motivating for groups - particularly children I would imagine.
