When I have finished adding the audio to the final part of your Swedish courses, I wondered if it would be a good idea to rename the courses. I think people are getting confused by the present labels. I have seen people try to start on 8,000+ - presumably because they think they are going to learn 8,000 words - but not sign up for the first three parts.
I think it would be better if we renamed these courses. My suggestion (for the minute, I’m open to other ideas) would be that we call them:
8,000+ words (based on Kelly frequency database), Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4
This way people know where to start. I think these courses are waaaaay better than the 6K course by jellybreadracer - because of the source he used - but we get less traffic, so to speak, than the 6K course because people think they are getting “more words” with those courses.
If I type his name, nothing happens, @Arete_Hime, which means he hasn’t used the new forums. You can only tag people with the @ sign if they are actually members of the forums. I have sent a message to someone at memrise notifying them that I haven’t heard from him yet since posting this message in late August. The memrise person I contacted said they would pass on my request to sehiralti, but of course, maybe they weren’t able to contact him after all, or the memrise staff member forgot to do it. Any number of explanations…
Anyway, I am still trying to get the go-ahead from him, so I will hold out a bit longer. There is someone else trying to contact him about his Finnish courses, too.
