Learning with written words and audio is good. Learning with pictures is better.
I suggest adding a new pro feature where every word is accompanied by an image or a video. Sometimes the image would lack the translated word. Sometimes it would include the translated word. The videos would be intentionally outrageous (as in puns) for the specific purpose of helping to build association.
I’d pay for that!

But for the courses created by the memrise team, you only have access to the mems you create yourself.
When I first joined memrise in May 2014, memrise was All. About. The. Pictures.
I was trying to add some memes in English and German lessons, but it seems nobody else cares anymore. But I can say it’s useful for me to remember the words and idioms.
The more associations, the better.
